    jumper lang yan i-parallel lang ang baterya. dami pang procedure na positive muna, negative naman sa ground dapat. etc...

    Bakit kaya SERIES ang tawag ng mga mechanic noong unang panahon pag jumper sa battery? Eh PARALLEL connection naman ito.

    Strictly speaking, it is a series connection because only a single load(car to be jumped) is connected to the single source(battery). Electron flow during jump start only occurs in a single loop. Yes, the batteries will be connected in parallel(source to source) but the car would be in series with the battery(or batteries in parallel).

    If you series the batteries it will produce 24 volts.

    Reason behind positive first is for safety.

    Bridging negative first could pose great chances of positive accidentally touching the negative since the surroundings(car chassis) is already electrically negative.

    Same safety practice for -48VDC Datacom/Telecom setup, but it uses negative as the "hot" wire (chassis being positive).
