Yung magnet wire ay laminated, bearings are double insulated, commutator is semi-sealed, rectifier and regulator are hermetically sealed but not the connections. Prolonged breach of flood water could damage those parts.

Usual nasisira ay regulator/rectifier, and if walang New Era replacement, better replace the whole assembly with Taiwan replacement.
Yung main power line wala seal.. pero yun sa IC nya meron naman rubber gasket.. tama nga na madalas nasisira yung rectifier... sama mo pa yung mga diode na minsan bumibitaw yung solder.

Mas ok palitan tapos kung kaya repair yung old, pwede gawin reserba

Yock's! Wow I am happy that it's still in business! I remember going there with my Dad as young as grade school so that was in the 90s pa!

Mga pinupuntahan namin ng Dad ko naalala ko Yock's, Alberto's, Constellation and Aguila (malakas kasi name recall hahaha).

so Yock's is so popular, pineke na at ginawang Yack's hahahah!

I don't think pineke, it's the nickname of the proprietor, and has been around since the 80s din.

usually ang nasisira sa alternator eh rectifier diode.. yung avanza ko on its 8th year yata.. umilaw yang check battery.. eh bago naman battery.. so alternator pala yung problem.. sa PipTon Repair shop ko dinala sa may Kalentong.. ayus naman pinalitan lang yung rectifier diode.. parang 1500 lang damage this was 2015 yata..

I remember canvassing alternator before and it is not cheap if you buy original one it will cost you 20k plus but taiwan replacement would cost around 10k.

someone once warned that the jenuine fakes may not be as robust as OEM...
that's why he goes on to recommend repairing the OEM instead of buying japake.

Yes OEM already tried and tested. Im not sure if other replacement brands is equally good as well as I have not tried one.

thru the decades, i have heeded the advice.
pina-repair ko yung akin, at hindi bumili nang kapalit.
ok naman yung repair. hindi na umulit yung prublem, even after many years.
    mabuhay si yock's!
