You basically have the same carb with my Mazda 323 Astina, only that my jets and barrels are bigger in diameter. Below are my two-cents worth as per experience on the carb.
Anyway, how erratic is erratic? Going up and down? Frequently? With aircon on and off?
AFAIK, carbs lose tune overtime especially pag may singaw na (needs repair kit) or depende sa atmospheric pressure (cold/hot? - yes, hindi lang EFI ang affected nito) at ambient temperature (hot sunny day/cold rainy nights).
Ilang RPM menor mo pag may aircon at wala?
May backfire ba (parang sinisinok or inuubo yung kotse)? If it backfires even on idle, have your air/fuel ratio fixed asap. It could cause overheat (mixed too lean).
Na-try mo na ba i-remix yung air/fuel ratio?
Don't do this too often, especially spraying directly to the barrells without throttling higher revs. Your carb is downdraft. Now imagine where all that dirty slime go.
Four-year old spark plugs and wires?
I'm beginning to think this could be the culprit.
How fine is fine?
If it really doesn't "lose power" or "jerk", then rule out the backfiring issue.
Does it eventually start after stalling? O hard starting na?
How did you check if there was spark?
Diba kapapalit mo lang sir?

Take it to a reputable shop sir.
Good luck.
