    ... so geely isn't volvo...?

    i am curious,
when geely bought volvo, how much of the volvo mystique, real and imagined, rubbed off on geely?

It should be the other way around "Volvo is Geely", if indeed Volvo is bought by Geely.

Haha, naisipan ko lang doc why they didn't use this term "Volvo is Geely".
Geely is Volvo daw kasi Volvo is bought and now owned by Geely.
So expect that their cars now inherited Volvo's quality daw as per Sales Agents ng Geely.

Geely owns Volvo so there's a little technology transfer there... they codeveloped a CMA that's currently being used by Volvo and some Geely cars.... none of the cars that are available here in the [emoji1198] though. As far as I've read the Geely Tugella and the Monjaro uses Volvos CMA. the cars here in the Phil. are pure Chinese tech..

Volvo's quality isnt highly regarded locally. Its probably the least popular among the more mainstream luxury brands (BMW, Mercedes, Audi, Lexus)

    in my opinion,
    it's not the cars.
    it's the maintenance folks,
    if not the owners themselves.

    my feeling is,
these cars need a little more TLC than the japanese cars.

Geely, not Volvo: Are PH dealers and agents changing? | Autoindustriya

Thankfully one dealership in Bulacan wants to put an end to this ill-advised practice of "upbadging".
Now to shed some light on this, the sales trainer explained why this is the case. While Volvo is under the Geely umbrella, they operate as two separate brands.

New SGAP boss: Geely PH appoints new president | Autoindustriya

Sojitz G Auto Philippines conducted a presidential turnover. Outgoing SGAP chief Yugo Kiyofuji has handed the ceremonial key to incoming SGAP chief Naoyuki Takeda.

Typically when a Japanese company assigns a chief executive it's for a 3-year period, but the outgoing president has been in the post only for 1 year and 8 months. Perhaps the parent company Sojitz decided that Kiyofuji would be better suited to a different role that is still unspecified.

    if i may,

the top picture shows that the tint is not clear.
the bottom picture apparently looks clear, probably because the camera that took the picture made automatic corrections that resulted in a clear-like image thru the ws.
even our eyes automatically make similar corrections, without our knowing it.

if one wants to make a non-automatically edited picture,
one way would be to include in the picture a part of the side window with the glass down.
that way, one may readily compare the tinted view versus untinted view.

Many chinese around the world are spies ... whether they are aware of it or not ... whether they like it or not ... as long as they have relatives back in the motherland ...
