In my humble opinion, the DM-i hybrid of BYD is superior to that of Honda's hybrid powertrain. Do note that what we have isn't the latest 5.0 DM-i version just yet (maybe next year?).
We are definitely getting the global release which is 5-star Euro NCAP rated.
Branded in China as the "Song Plus Champion Edition" - this is a facelift of the BYD Song Pro DM-i released in Dec 2022 (which, in turn, was a facelift of an earlier BYD Song variant).
Some quick notes/specs:
• Uses BYD's Blade LiFePO4 batteries - currently the best EV batteries commercially available today
• FWD (not clear if the Philippines will get the AWD version)
• 215 hp and 300 nm of torque (0-100kph claim is about 8.5 sec)
• Bigger and wider than the Mitsu Outlander PHEV
• Warranty: 6 yr bumper-to-bumper, 8 yr battery warranty; only 1 PMS per year
• Powertrain modes: EV, HEV Parallel, HEV Series
• PHEV Range: 1092km; EV Range: 92km
• Kerb weight: 1940kg
• Fuel requirement: 95 RON
• No spare tireLast edited by Verbl Kint; July 26th, 2024 at 05:38 PM.
It is repairable. But as oj88 mentioned, it is messy (when repaired) and best used as a last resort.
