February 17th, 2012 12:38 PM #1my car is an optra, year 2005.
recently im having overheating issues with it.
i was told that the radiator fan is working on 2 speeds, low and high.
after it reaches a certain temp, the radiator fan should switch from low to high speed.
unfortunately, my radiator fan is not.
the bigger problem here is that i brought it already to a nearby casa.
they cant fix it because they can not find any error everytime they run the diagnostic test.
the sensor is reading the temperature correctly.
any advice folks? TIA

February 17th, 2012 02:17 PM #2Sir, saang casa po kayo nagpunta? Chevy do have an expert guy with regards to diagnostics and he carries this particular suitcase like gadget in his car all the time. Please inquire from the casa if he can do some diagnostics on your car. If you need further help, please send me a private message, thanks.

February 18th, 2012 03:28 PM #4*supremacy,
as far as I know, the 2 radiator are not running at the same time.
yung 1 ang lagi naka ON and running and the other auxillliary will only run
pag nadetect ng system na mainit na at it will automoatically run and switch off again.
ON and OFF yung isang fan.
start your engine and open your engines hood.
observe while in idle, you'll see that 1-fan is running (i think its the one at right)
then the auxilliary fan will only run when the system detects high temp and
again will automatically switch off after few minutes.
from that you'll notice if your fan has problems...
baka wiring lang yan...

February 29th, 2012 12:48 AM #5we are not againts mr. mario.
pagsalpak ganun parin.
and yet taga pangpamga since na malayo sa shop since na sa cainta pa kami. sabi ko tawagan nalang si mang mario kasi nga mas malapit sa kanya at para di na cya lumayo pa. same problem ayaw mag high ang fan puro low lang.
radiator fan.
but radiator fan was change recently lang and yes casa yun.
so uwi nalang yung customer.
tawag ulit kung may idea pa kami.
well for those same concern. ayaw may HIGH ng fan pero walang trouble code or DTC.
check nyo yung takip ng radiator nyo or yung cap ng reservoir.
dalawang embose yun. pag mayron konting punit or sira cya. well wala ng iba yun.
try mo walang aircon then tignan mo sabay sila aandar.
pag yung rad fan eh laging naka on. pag start palang malamang may jumper ang coolant nyan.

February 29th, 2012 10:23 AM #7ganito kase yan, as how I've experience sa optra ko.
counter-fit is ofcourse a bit low in its price compared to OEM.
run ng engine's rpm. otherwise, you'll end up complaining...
on some issues, yung un-reprogramm throttle comes after few drive test pa. but in my throttle
i never experience any similar issues as being discussed here.
tsaka to some, basta important part ng engine, take the genuine GM parts regardless of its
market price para sigurado ka. (ex. me nabili ako dati kay thunder, yung aking fuel pump set ibinalik
ko kase maingay, palibhasa counter-fit mura pa, at nung isalpak ko ang OEM, it solve the issues)
up to you optra owner's... goodluck guys!
hope you solve your optra problems very soon.

then pa reset mo para walang trouble code after palitan ng pump. or kung anong man sensor.
