yeh. GM Phils should have brought that and I just couldnt understand why they brought in the China-sourced Lumina, its so fugly. Anyway, the Holden based Lumina is being made in Thailand. :twak:Originally Posted by cardo
Made in Thailand? So there is hope that we could get it? But then, it would cost at least 2 million, and the Lumina just doesn't look special enough to take on the other big rear wheel drive American Sedan.
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
They sell the LWB version in China, its called the Buick Royaum.Originally Posted by cardo

Its positioned above the Regal.
The Chinese version has a standard 2.8 liter V6.
Its the RWD Chevy Lumina that GM sells in Thailand, Middle east, South Africa etc.Originally Posted by ryan
Its basically a rebadged Holden Commodore thats been out since 1998(it had a number of facelifts and upgrades throughn the years), the base powerplant is a 3.6 liter V6(one of the possible reasons why it didn't come here).

The RWD Lumina/ Holden Commodore is a cousin of the Opel Omega.
It will soon be replaced by an all-new model based on GM's new Zeta platform.
Most midsize cars I see here are Honda accords, regals, Audi a6s and vw passats. atchaka yun midsize ng ford, yun mondeo(?). me camry din pero iilan lang. The regal we have is company supplied so i cant complain. Iilan lang naka full size sedan dito(probably since its a province). I have not seen any royaum here, probably its too expensive at 368k rmb which is like php 2.5m. Ang nakikita ko lang mostly are Bmw 7's and a couple of merc s class(which is like the only merc model i've seen)
I've seen worse though, like a rav4 with crv headlights which I thought was the real thing as we were overtaking it. a copy of the lancer(pizza) i saw at a parking lot. and a copy of the CRV i saw on the road. From afar you would thinkthe cars are the japanese cars... yun badge lang iba - and its something i can't read or pronounce![]()

Had a chance to use the Lumina as a rental car sa U.S. Oks naman, especially for interstate. Sarap ng power and suspension. Di ko lang na test ang mileage niya then. Never expected it to get released in the Phils, though. Parang too big to be used here locally.

To clear things up, the RP market Chevy Lumina is based on the Buick Regal(Shanghai GM version), the slightly smaller but more luxurious cousin of the USDM Chevy Impala.Originally Posted by Autobeat

The Lumina is being offered at around 1.17M plus free 80,000 pesos worth of gas or insurance.
the power window switch looks like those generic window switches available in auto shops hehe only painted haha
Perfect for the company car! Satisfies the bean-counters and still allow the executives to travel in comfort. And with Php 80K, that's definitely a deal breaker. (Btw, I mean that in a non-sarcastic way) :DOriginally Posted by carlocaraddict
executives driving or being driven around in a Lumina wont be closing any deals :D haha
I saw 2 Luminas in Makati last weekend... they seem to be owner driven (maybe only during weekends?)
