At the moment there are no plans to launch the Pontiac brand in Asia.
Chevrolet is GM's global brand and this is the brand they introduced in Europe and Asia.
About the Regal platform and the 2.5 liter V6, more or less the Regal(RP Lumina) is similar in size and weight to the Accord 2.4.

    Chevy Lumina 2.5
    max power: 152 bhp * 5600 rpm
    max torque: 209 Nm * 4400 rpm
    Length: 4923 mm (193.8 in)
    Width: 1845 mm (72.7 in)
    Height: 1465 mm (57.7in)
    Wheelbase: 2769 mm (109 in)
Curb Weight: 1458 kg (3207.6 lbs)

    ASEAN Honda Accord 2.4
    max power: 160 hp * 5500 rpm
    max torque: 218 * 4500 rpm
    Length: 4830 mm (190.2 in)
    Width: 1820 mm (71.6 in)
    Height: 1445 mm (56.9 in)
    Wheelbase: 2740 mm (107.9 in)
Curb Weight: 2,4 VTi, 1450 kg (3190 lbs)
    2.4 VTi-L, 1475 kg (3245 lbs)

Weight and size are not too far from the Accord's...

They might as well stuff in the Ecotec 4 which puts out 170hp has better gas mileage.

The Regal GS was substantially more heavy with a curb weight at almost 3600lbs. Of course, the bigger engine would add weight plus Buick, being a luxury division would've added a lot more sound deadening material inside.

Just stay tuned for the all-new model. I guess its too late to update a car thats on the end of its model cycle.

By the way, I think GM Philippines can only request different trim combinations from Shanghai-GM when they import the Chevy badged version of the Regal.
Most likely its impossible to request for other engines not offered by GM-Shanghai not unless they introduce new engines in their local models.

Even at 500K, hindi ko bibilihin yan unless i can sell it for a profit which you cant since once buy a chevy car you lose almost 50% in depreciation when the car rolls out the door.

Its common for people to bash old cars, but this old Lumina is actually outselling the all-new Sonata here.
The Regal/Lumina replacement will be released soon(In China first), so I guess, the old car bashing will continue for a few more months.

The Ecotec 4 may make better numbers, but never underestimate the torque of a bigger engine. Actually, the Lumina's long gearing give it relatively good mileage for a V6... but then it's a tiny V6.

It's true that they're selling now, though... am seeing a bunch of Luminas on the road. They're not as common as, say, a Focus (which is still trickling in, also), but you can see one every now and then.

Wonder what discounts they're giving on them?

    Selling it where?

That AWD Holden HSV Coupe 4 looks wild.

By the way, the Chvey Lumina Coupe is based on the RWD Monaro(also sold as the Pontiac GTO and Vauxhall Monaro)

The 2006 Lumina range is headed by the new Lumina Royale. Its road presence - undeniable. Its pedigree - irrefutable. And the hardware it packs - formidable. This Luxury sports saloon has it all: 330bhp 5.7L V8, performance styling package, 5-spoke 17" alloys and unique 2-tone leather interior. You'll find nothing responds quite like it.

I'm sure it's fast. I'd be half-tempted to trade in our old Contour for one. But, what kind of gas mileage will that new Lumina Royale get and what's the capacity of the fuel tank?

It does have shades of the old USDM Lumina up front. Hmm. It almost looks like it's based out of the new Impala platform.

And: Red seats? Black leather would look more tasty.... Plus, I'm not sure I like the position of the emergency brake. Call me old-fashioned. But I like the emergency brake on my side of the center console.

I see, even South Africa and Thailand gets the Holden based Chevy Lumina 3.6 V6.
I'm guessing GM Philippines thought the 3.6 liter engine was too big for the RP market.

I guess thats the reason why they opted for the Buick based FWD Chevy Lumina 2.5.

^exactly in the US it's the Chevy Impala & the Coupe is the Pontiac GTO, in Australia its called a HOLDEN Monaro where it's actually sourced/built.

    Fuel Tank Capacity - 75 L

    Gas Mileage?
dunno, peeps here really don't care, ika-nga pinandidilig lang sa kalsada ang gasolina dito! hehehe

The new 2006 Impala is just a heavily revised version of the previous FWD Impala.
The RWD Chevy Lumina is a rebadged Holden Commodore, which is a distant cousin of the European Opel/Vauxhall Omega.

The next Chevy Impala, Camaro, Pontiac GTO, and Buck Velite(?) will be based on an all-new platform(Zeta) developed by Holden.

The Impala and Monte Carlo are FWD and are not related to the Holden.
The only Holden based USDM model at the moment is the Pontiac GTO.

I'll get back to you soon... cheers!

^^re: the red leather seats, you have several choices, yan lang yung pic na available eh, hehehe

yeah the handbrake is in an odd location, i guess the designers had the "driver's comfort" in mind

i was really surprised to see that Lumina (Buick) in the Philippines BUT hey, Buicks are one of the sturdiest cars that GM has ever built, kaya nga na-phase out dito yan, sa sobrang tibay it rarely visits the service centers for major repairs, "bad for aftersales business!" hehehe

I'd like the Lumina coupe. I haven't had a RWD car since my very first car, an old late-70's Trans Am.

Holden announced that the last Monaro based HSVs will have the Corvette Z07's 7-liter(427) LS7 V8 engine! They'll only make 50.
    This is the concept version...
