    Congrats....

btw, update ko lang kayo, tamad ako mag write long, but I can say, TCCI is improving on their After sales / Customer service unlike before. It's still not perfect, but they are slowly getting there.

Regarding my Cruze, mag 6 months na siya this month, so after a hassle of the first two months, finally they corrected the problem with my car, and now it's perfoming without any problems.

I'll have my first PMS this month and sabay ko na rin yung brake damper to take out a noise on the brakes when reversing.

    Comments of owning this car:

    1. I still find the car to be slow in acceleration.
    2. The automatic transmission shift well, but unlike Hyundai. Hyundai is smoother in shifting.
    3. FC could be better, but then I think I have a slightly heavy foot. I average around 9km/liter. I am using 18" rims on 40 series tires.
    4. The engine is still quiet when cruising. When it downshift to pass other vehicle, you can hear a slight growl. How I wish that growl can be converted to HP. again, this car is slow.
    5. ride is good even when fully loaded (the rear doesnt go down much).
    6. brake pad are not good, it always leave brake residue (poor brake pads components). sometimes, when you wash your car, the next day when you use the car, sometimes the brake pads will stick to the rotor. This is not the cars fault but the brake pad quality/components.
    7. a/c is really not strong. maybe its the fan speed as #1 is really slow, so most of the time, you will be using #2. my more than 3 year old Mitsu has super better a/c and it never had any maintenance sa a/c ninya.

Sir I have been reading a lot on this forums and it seems that there are a lot of complaints regarding Chevy Cruze.. unlike Hyundai and Mitsubishi because I also read some of the threads in other sections of this forum.

I am now having second thoughts. I am about to get my Velvet Red Chevy Cruze LT tomorrow. Now I am confused If chevy is the right brand for me as my first car. :-(

Any tips? Badly need help asap before I make a bad decision tomorrow

I've owned my Cruze already for 6 months.
I've road tested all of the competitors of the Cruze before buying and read about other vehicles as you did. I love my Cruze still. I've been through it all. A coconut fell on the hood of my car crushing a huge portion of it, and my car was vandalized by some no good people..scratched deep large swirls on all doors, hood, trunk, and one quarter panel. After that incident i knew that Chevy's integrity under the new management of TCCCI would be tested. They said it would take 2 weeks to get done..and it took less than 2 weeks. No problems at all. They were quite helpful. My hood (which was damaged 1st before the vandalism) was ready after 4 days. 2 days of delivery..2 days paint.

As for the car itself. Yes..it is NOT a race car. It doesn't accelerate like a rocket. But keep that pedal right down and it keeps going and going..faster n faster..and the noise inside is quiet. Was doing 140kph and nobody noticed we were actually going that fast..was very quiet. I drove my tita's Honda City and it was wayyy noisy at 80kph compared to my Cruze. I also spent a week on vacation in another part of the Philippines commuting using taxis of different kinds. after coming back to my car at the airport..the quietness of the ride made me once again realize why i love my car. Some say the aircondition isn't as good..some say it's ok. If it's not to your liking let us know..we have some tips. or even take it to your dealer..which a lot of the others didn't do. As an owner of 6 months..no problems whatsoever with this car. THe best thing that I like about it is that it's not another civic..it's not another vios..another corolla. it's Different..in a good way. Owning this vehicle has been great especially with the help of Chevy. They've increased their warranty to 5yrs like Hyundai and Kia to prove that they can stand toe to toe with the koreans. All i can say is that I'm so happy to have this car. Everyone loves riding in it and I love driving it. It's such a smooth ride and also very safe. Congrats on your new car..you're going to love it for sure. Be sure to join our group on facebook. C3-PH

It's official! Earlier I took home my new Chevy Cruze LT variant and WOW speechless.. very satisfied, the ride was so smooth there was no engine noise (I used to drive toyota hilux)... Although I did noticed an unusual noise when I was on reverse.. on the brake pad or disk area? Is that normal??

Sir I did submit a request to C3-PH on facebook but no one has approved it yet.

Actually, that noise was brought to Chevy by our club and other owners. It has been discussed as well by other Cruzers around the world. Chevy came back with an answer and now all you have to do is give your CASA a call and they'll install what they call, Brake Dampers to your car. They can install it in less than 30mins. Had mine done at Chevy Westgate. and of course.it's cost free since it's under warranty still.

Congrats getting your Cruze. Siguro ganun din ako when i was first purchasing the Cruze. i had second thoughts, but once i got it, all of those hesitant feelings went away.

Cruze and the GMDAT/DAEWOO brakepads are soft which leaves a lot of brake dust after 50kms of travel. Changing to another brand may fix this but may cause other problems. Choose which ones you want to wear out fast, brake pads or rotors?

Was able to drive a Cruze and the braking power was quite impressive and confidence-inspring, almost European car-like. Judging the brakes by the residue it leaves may not be the right criterion for judging whether brake pads are good or not...

But brake dust is common with some European cars, at least the ones I've experienced. But the trade-off is that you have strong brakes that can haul the car down from sustained high speeds. An engineer friend explained that European brands use metallic-ceramic-component brake pads that leave a lot of residue, but provide strong braking power -- unsightly but safe.

Metal content will explain sticky brakes after washing -- it's due to oxidation (rust) temporarily binding the pad to the rotor. The oxidation disappears on the first application of the brakes after driving off, then you're back to full braking power.

    Cheers
