for the first time nakakita ako ng Cherry tiggo pro7 dito sa may amin. yung kulay blue green. on first impression malaki siya. has presence saka stand out yun kulay blue green. doesnt look half bad. finish looks ok naman. kaso di ko nakita ang loob. i cant help thinking kung MG o Geely branded ito they might have moved a few more units. at this point and to me at least the Cherry nameplate doesnt equate to durable or longevity.

Chery Omoda 5 axle issue - vehicle being inspected and investigated, recall for small batch of customers - paultan.org

News report of the incident. Apparently it was a sudden failure without hitting potholes and bumps

Hardly surprising. They make tofu buildings and bridges. Tofu cars wouldn't be far-fetched.

You mean to say hindi to freak accident or nagkataong minalas lang. Isispin mo what would have happened if nasa expressway nangyari yan at highway speeds

If sa expressway nangyari, malamang maraming anggulo need tingnan which magiging rason na hindi pa fault yung car manufacturer.
Baka isisi pa sa driver yung nangyari sa car.
Good thing hindi sa expressway nangyari and it directly blames the quality control ng manufacturer.

I know what you mean, and I agree with you na at least, mabuti obvious na biglang kumalas na lang under "light" use. Ibig sabihin palpak talaga yung design/gawa.

What I'm saying is, mahirap makipagsapalaran sa mga kotseng dubious ang quality. Gagastos ka na nga lang, yung pangit/alanganin pa bibilhin. Pareho naman halos presyo sa ibang kotse. If sa highway nangyari yung incident na yan, malaking sakuna sigurado.

It was spot-welded, looks like it.The presence of surface rust along the supposedly solid interface seems to suggest that there was an air gap between them and has been like that for at least a while prior to the incident.

    Serpentza featured it...

    i can see it now,

worker 1 : "hey, bud, it's almost lunchtime. i'll just spot-weld this, then have lunch, then properly weld it all round afterward."
    worker 2 : "ok, bud."

worker 1 never came back to finish the job.
then worker 3 came along : "now, who left this here? it should have been brought to the pile of 'finished welds' over there. i'll bring it there myself."

    heh heh.

A robot's work is only as good as what its human programmer wants it to do.

hindi spot welded yan. spot welding is used on join thin body panels together. it looks like MIG

i do MIG (w/ shielding gas) at home here's a fairly recent weld that i did. there are a lot of variables that could affect weld quality: wire speed, voltage, surface prep, poor grounding, worn out tips, etc

Weld preparation is poor. The WPS should have clearly specified what's to be done.

Given that this is a critical car component, a bevel should have been applied first to achieve a full penetration weld, or a fillet weld should have been completed around the entire joint.
