    while most banks avoid dealing with crypto, silvergate bank is very crypto friendly

    all major crypto exchanges have accounts at silvergate

    if you have a crypto exchange account and you wanna fund your account, you transfer money from your bank account to the crypto exchange's silvergate account

    and of course when you profit in crypto and decide to cash out, the reverse happens

    billions (maybe even trillions) passed thru silvergate

    kaya big deal sa crypto world ang shutdown ng silvergate

    we'll know on monday what happens next

    the market became even more jittery

    everybody's asking which bank is next

    the authorities have 2 days (saturday and sunday) to decide what to tell the market on monday

    if it's decided that depositors with millions/billions in SVB will only get 250K back, there could be mass withdrawals of uninsured deposits from community and regional banks

    that's gonna be problematic

    depositors of SVB will have access to all their money (not only the insured amount)

    Signature bank closed

    depositors will also get all their money back



    authorities knew if they didn't protect SVB depositors, other banks will experience mass withdrawals

    Sa mga kaibigan ko sa Cali nabanggit ko sa GC namin na tingin ko ibabail-out din yan somehow like what US gov't did in 2008 for certain banks. Some have investment sa winery kasi. Buti na lang nagkatotoo.

    Pero di kasama sa US...
