    WTO papertiger rulings...

WTO rules Trump's tariff vs China as illegal...

In one of the most high-profile and potentially explosive cases to come to the WTO, the three-person adjudicating panel said the U.S. measures were inconsistent with WTO rules and recommended the United States bring them into conformity.

The United States said it strongly rejected the "flawed" interpretation and conclusions of the panel.

It could appeal the ruling, which would send it into a legal void because Washington has blocked appointments to the WTO Appellate Body, rendering it incapable of giving a judgment.

China said it hoped the United States would respect the panel ruling and "correct its wrongful conducts as soon as possible".

WTO rules China's retaliatory tariff vs Trump tariff as illegal... which the US applauds.

A World Trade Organization (WTO) dispute settlement panel on Wednesday found that China had acted inconsistently with its WTO obligations by imposing additional duties on certain U.S. imports in response to U.S. tariffs on steel and aluminium.

The office of the U.S. Trade Representative said it was pleased with the WTO decision, adding that China had "illegally retaliated with sham 'safeguard' tariffs."

Beijing could appeal the ruling, which would send it into a legal void because Washington has blocked appointments to the WTO Appellate Body, rendering it incapable of giving a judgment.

When they realized nobody can replace China's market share in Aussie wine.

Treasury Wine Estates to close Karadoc winery amid rising costs and falling global demand - ABC News

The company announced its decision to 60 workers yesterday.

The move comes as TWE aims to adapt to evolving consumer preferences and concentrate on the growth of its luxury and premium wine portfolios.

The industry heavyweight is blaming the closure on a decline in commercial wine consumption and increasing costs, claiming it is financially unviable to continue operations at the winery.

Mr Petty said one of the reasons doors would close was due to the ongoing wine trade freeze between Australia and China.
