Congrats! Well, your no "little" Missy now.

Coincidentally, a friend told me the same process was implemented in their company, he was already the acting team leader (another term for manager with cheap pay) for a year and then this. The 1st time, he was not successful but was perplexed when asked by their manager to teach the chosen candidate. The 2nd time, he sensed this was already just formality, so he did not, and that an identified candidate was already pre-anointed. Well, he was right and then his colleagues who took the 2nd attempt were disappointed. A case of, I told you so hehe... This could be a case of sour graping, I thought, but then, I know office politics cannot be dismissed.

I wonder why some companies still implement this system? Why don't they just let the superior chose who they want and spare the others the trouble and demoralization?

Thank you papi. I will forever be "little" until I become Little Misis.

True, it is demoralizing and I actually almost didn't apply the third time because I wasn't sure that I can take another defeat shortly after the last one.

I think our company has a different process than what you're describing. You have to apply because you to have show that you're the perfect fit. I can't be bitter if the less deserving people get the roles when they applied for it and I didn't. Sometimes the hiring manager doesn't know the applicant but the process is structured to test if you have the competency they're looking for.

In my case, out of the applicants, I was in a close competition with this person who was friends with the hiring team. But it was point system not palakasan and since I earned higher points I got the role. In those times that I failed, someone did better than me. That's why I agree that one has to be comfortable with the interview process.

Very similar with my experience, I am already the officer in charge of my team but nothing happened for six months. Getting burned out, I resigned and the management immediately promoted the replacement of my supervisor.
