February 7th, 2022 10:25 AM #231our wooden handrail at home, drops vertically down to the ground at the end.
i find it more aesthetically pleasing over abrupt ends or halfway-there's.
our floor is wooden, so the handrail drop kinda blends well.
in older buildings,
i have seen handrails end in horizontal spirals or other similar. nice.Last edited by dr. d; February 7th, 2022 at 10:31 AM.

Real Estate is one of the better investments one can make in this country so mortgages make sense. Its one of the best ways to beat inflation.
Personally, I'm planning to buy land I have no intention living on. Perhaps if I have extra funds in the future I can build a house on it and flip it.
We actually have a joke on a friend's family business that has been sideways during the pandemic: If you just bought a house in Westgrove in 2012 instead, did absolutely nothing other than pay taxes and dues, your return would be better off. But of course, hindsight is 20/20.

West grove in 2002 was P8k per square meter lang [emoji15] In Makati, even outside the villages like in Poblacion ang taas na, 6 digits per square meter na rin. I remember when Magallanes was around P65k per square pa (it was the lowest among the villages) This must be in the late 2000s because my UF and I, in one of our 3 hr people watching sessions were thinking how we could buy a house in Makati without the help of our parents. We concluded it's never gonna happen (our parents both lived in their parents house din) Hahaha!

Don't get me wrong, I appreciate real estate as an investment as much as anyone. The commercial (albeit provincial) lot I bought 6 years ago is now worth more than double what I paid for it. Still have a few years to pay it off, but definitely one of the best investments I made. My point is buying at a good price and right sizing is important. Very risky to be putting all eggs in one huge basket that you might not be able to pay for. This is what is happening to a lot of folks in the US. They take out mortgages for properties that will take them a lifetime to pay off barring any health issues. Taking the immense financial load off the normal working man's life is the point of tiny house living.

The zonal value for Magallanes is around P170k, the others are 200k and up.
The entry price for a house in San Lorenzo or Magallanes would be around P150-200M. You can split the lot with a duplex in San Lo but I’m not sure if you can split the title.

The village in MM I am liking outside of Makati is Ayala Heights in QC but I'm sure 6 digits per square na din there
OT: Common na ba na the zonal is higher than the market value na? I know Makati does that. We have a problem in one of our properties they updated the zonal value
