    for my opinion.

Its not a matter of how much you earn, its a matter of how much you spend.

    My 2 cent comment.

so true hehe, usually nasa ratio yan eh, if you're the type who spends 30% of your net salary on NON-ESSENTIAL expenses like gadgets, accessories, etc, kahit gano kalaki na sweldo mo, 30% padin ang gagastusin mo sa mga bagay na yun.

for most people kasi, when they see an increase in income, automatically they see an increase in PURCHASING POWER instead of savings...

ako, admittedly ganun ako before, I was wondering baket nung new hire (1st job) ko up to mga 4 years na ako nagwowork wala padin akong savings although my salary jumped to around 80% more from my first job... ganun din, everytime i earn more, gastos ako sa oto, gastos ako sa phone, etc etc..

nagbago lang nung may anak na... hehe, dun ko narealize (the past 5 months or so), ang laki pala na masasave for the future kung binubudget ang non-essential spendings...

you'll be surprised at how much you spend on newspaper, parking, soda, candy, etc on a daily basis.

pay yourself first kasi. bago ka magbayad ng kahit ano, bago ka bumili ng kahit isang rag pamunas ng kotse mo, before you even give money to the church, pay yourself first. meaning, put in the bank what you always tell yourself you will save for the month. pag tapos ng 1 year may 12 months ka na. after 5 years, 60 months. laking pera na yan.

if not in the bank, put it in an investment that grows. like real estate.

dami nga atang ganitong similar threads..

but this one asks for a poll not suited in my current work situation..

the only thing applicable is that the very money i earned & sent home (90% of it) goes into our banking system..malamang yong demographics criteria ni sir selectamagnolia encompasses these monetary flow structures..

putting aside too much bla-bla about criteria, i am not casting any vote on the poll..

topic-wise, my monthly earning is dictated by fx fluctuations..it is enough to cover the basic household expense, bills, insurance payments, mortgages, expenses not covered by pre-need EP, gaso'+ maintenance, emergencies, subsidies ("bilmoko nyan", "maawing nilalang", etc.) and comes the next monthly cycle again.. plus net savings(15% of monthly take)..
