Credit card application

Guys. Need info lng kung ano ba reasons bat hindi ma approve ung credit card application. Ngtry ako mg apply sa bpi cc. Pinadalhan ako ng letter at sabi doon denied ung cc application ko but pwede raw ako mg apply ng card inwhich mgdeposit muna ako mg certain amt of money kumbaga debit card.

talagah! what did they say, was the reason for the denial, po?
in the past... ilang beses na kaming linapitan ng ahente, shoving a credit card application under our noses.. siguradong approved daw.. non-bpi.
times have changed. they are probably still smarting from previous experience of non-payment of CC holder debts...
...no history of credit performance, and/or "un-impressive" income (sorry, but i can't think of a better term).

I once opened an acct at bpi. Tapos after 1yr pinaclose ko na. Baka isa un na dahilan hindi na approve ung cc application ko.

there are other banks besides bpi and bdo, who also offer credit card... why these two, po?

As advised from my friends po. Nakikita ko kasi majority of the establishments here in phils accepting mostly bdo.bpi.metrobank cc only. Ung wife ko meron pnb cc. Credit limit 20k. But usage of the card is minimal in some establishments offering installments.

Thats not true. Wala sa bank yan it's either visa or MasterCard kahit Anong bank pa mag issue sayo tatangapin yan if you're talking about yun mga 0% interest usually sa promo ng mga bank yan.

that's what i thought, also.
btw... i happily found out that my manila-based ATM card can be used to withdraw local currency in some HK ATMs.. hindi nako nagdadala ng malaking foreign cash when i go there.

In our city, mostly bdo bpi and metrobank cards are accepted on 0% installment in major establishments.

Yes citibank, punta ka sa mall, daan ka kunyari malapit sa booth nila, antayin mo na itapat nila sa mukha mo ang flyer/application at libreng payong.

Citibank used to offer free shuttle rides around my building...gues what they'll be doing while you're in the van. Talk about captured market

SA kin naman eh galing payroll account ko yung cc. Try applying for a cc from your payroll account. Since makikita nila yung monthly income mo, they will have an idea on your financial capabilities.

true. tratrabuhin nila ma-approve ka kasi may finder's fee ata sila or something. dami niyan umaaligid sa mga sm hypermarkets

security bank din mukhang aggressive kumuha ng mga new clients. i receive a PM from one their agents every now and then in another forum

agree w/ the visa and mastercard seal of approval. it doesn't matter w/c bank issues you the credit card basta may tatak ng dalawang iyan good to go ka na

Ng apply ako at wifey sa citibank booth dito sa mall namin pero walang feedback hanggang ngayon. Mga 2months na.

F..k these banks. When I need CC, they have so many requirements. In short, sorry.

If I don't need CCs, these banks just gave me the cards. I don't use them.

Just maintain accounts with them (with reasonable amount) and the cards will come automatically.

Maybe off topic pero beware of credit card being sent to your home at activation na lang kulang, lalo na at may kasama kayo sa bahay na alangan ang ugali. It happened to one of my friend. Isang cc ang dumating sa isang bahay para sa isang OFW. May kapatid sya na may asawa at medyo masama ugali ng mag asawa. Since alam ng kapatid mga Personal question sa activation ng card, na activate nya ito. Nalaman na lang nung pag uwi ng OFW at nag loan sa bank. Na deny sya dahil sa hundred thousands nyang unpaid credit card bills.

Btw sa lahat ng credit card ko, bpi has the worst customer service. Aabutin ka ng ilang oras para may makausap ka sa hotline nila. Mabubulok na lang ako sa kakahintay para yang concern ko mapa abot ko sa kanila 😤

Kaya may reservations din ako sa pag recommend ng bpi
