Having problems Clifford alarms installed on Gen1 CR-V. After a few months the alarm would stop received trasmission from the remote after a few hours. Usually when you use it first thing in the morning or when going home from work. Installed Clifford Concept 100, then replaced with Clifford Arrow 3 (dealer installed). Same problem.
The Clifford Concept 100 was then installed (we installed it ourselves) on a 1997 Lancer with no problems so far. My friend is also having similar problems with his CR-V using a different brand car alarm.
Is there anyone else having the same problems with their alarms on CR-V? Which car alarms get along well with Gen1 CR-V? Or maybe the installer here in Davao does not know how to install properly?
i had avital alarm installed on our gen 1 crv way back 98. no problem so far, with autostart and remote rear window release. the problem i had was the driver side (non - oem) actuator, it was kinda hard to unlock because of the actuator . so i had a switch installed to aid in unlocking.
Guys, m down to 2 choices na lang with regards sa alarm. ngatanong ako sa Evangeista last weeked ( I finally had the time to ask arnd) and it seems sa 3k budget ko d ako makakahanap so i raised my budget to 3.5K to 4K. nakita ko parang ok yung Venom Car alarm mura sya at ok naman features kaso yung isa ko pinagtanongan wala raw yun Trunk Release feature yun cobra raw ang Meron w/c is P400 higher ang Price. Ung isa naman shop wala raw trunk release yung mga yun AUTOPAGE raw meron. Any advice? you think mas ok kung sa Banawe na ako pumunta?
will be getting a RAV4-SV within the week. since 2003 model siya, keyless entry lang. i'm planning to have an alarm installed.
some questions:
1. if i have an alarm installed, void ba ang warranty? if so, warranty for what parts?
2. meron daw available sa toyota makati, Code Alarm na 6,500. ok ba yun? reasonable price?
3. from the posts here, a lot of people recommend clifford, mannix or viper. pero maraming hi-tech features, most of which i don't understand or wouldn't know how to use. i don't want the autorstart feature, i just want an alarm which will keep my car safe. considering this, do i need the high-end kind like the clifford matrix or the mannix or viper 650vx?
3. is it safe to go to shops like autoline or intense? i'm not really a car buff so i don't frequent banawe or the makati shops. how long is the installation process usually?
my 99 has vipers on it...ok naman pero bad trip lang minsan hindi gumagana sa mall...lalo na sa shangri-la mall! i changed the batteries naman pero minsan ganun pa din...
anyone familiar with the alarm "Fury"? I was at Intense this afternoon, talked to Ben, and he said that he was selling this at P2,800.00. Made in Korea, ginaya daw ang Autopage.
There is also a Mannix Millenium, which is being sold at 9,500 by most shops (including Intense and Goldcars). parang andaming features i don't need though.

sir..
the casa will tell you na void na warranty ng whole electrical system nga rav4 ninyo lalo na pag sa labas kayo nagpakabit ng alarm..
try to ask them first kung sa kanila(casa) mo ipapakabit eh i-void nila warranty or not.. minsan kasi eh void din warrany kahit sila nagkabit ng alarm..
Lastly, magkano po ba uli ang *reasonable* price for the Clifford Arrow 3? And how much naman yung Intellistart module? Para alam ko kung taga yung price ng isang shop...
Originally posted by April_Ryan parang unfair naman. a car doesn't come with an alarm when it is sold to you. tapos kung magpakabit ka, void ang warranty ng entire electrical system?
will check with toyota makati to be sure. parang mali naman na kahit sila ang magkabit, void pa din.
OT: the guy on toyota makati also told me na void na warranty ng engine pag nag-skip ng 5Km PMS check-up.. higpit naman nila!!!
Thanks Walter! Any personal recommendations with regards to "reputable" shops where I can purchase a Clifford A3 and have it installed at the same time?
I'm willing to pay a little bit more for peace of mind
