October 2nd, 2003 05:29 PM #61hmmm... just a thought... how can you realy assess if a certain brand of car alarm is really effective or not? expensive cars with expensive factory installed anti-theft are still "carnappable"...

do you guys know what alarms can be installed on BMWs (specifically e30)? i asked some shops in alabang westgate. they told me that BMW door locks have vacuum-type mechanisms and that the usual car alarms available (autopage, viper, cobra) cannot be installed on my e30. but there were also some shops there that said these alarms can be installed. now i'm thinking maybe the shops that said these alarms can be installed are just after some business, and that the alarm will not last long. (i did notice that the BMW door locks are a bit harder to lock/unlock compared to my Civic). you guys have any opinion on this?

October 3rd, 2003 01:40 AM #63at LOOOOONG last! d2 pala ung may 7500 na mannix???? finally....
iv been looking 4 dis forum, btw, johnstone1 ako sa ibang forums or websites.....nways.... i myt sound a little biasd 2 sum of u coz im sellin mannix also kaya im pro-mannix....but b4 mannix, i was an old skul clifford user (w/c beeps every aftr 6 secs, 1992 ata on my california/nissan) den a viper 1999 edition.....til i got my hands on mannix, actually sa abroad den d2 na sa pinas....well, i wil never believe in d product if i havnt tried and tested it...so far so good, dats y im a believer...hehhe
1 > it is now sold * 9500 retail.... 2 kinds of mannix, d old one or d older model n now d millenium mannix.....more features ung new one dan d old one..... 8500 is d intro price 4 2 mos. d 7500 i know is d old mannix alarm.
2 > it is made in korea ..... warehouse in cavite, subic and sumwer in qc..... wondering y a warehous? coz not only mannix ang items pinaparating.... der is also a mannix made in usa, but d problem is shorter ang range nila bcoz of laws in d states dat dis-allows high frequency used of fm-fm signal.... sold in d states * $150 to $349 depends on d feature u want 2 get..unlyk hir all comes w/ d 9500 package.... in australia, mannix der comes from korea so with japan and taiwan or any other countries in d asia pacific rim...y do i know dis? i went 2 hk n taiwan 3 mos ago n knew it 1st hand....
3> a security alarm is a security alarm by itself, it is not how much but how many it can do, it is not how long but how dependable it is.....its lyk d nokia 5110 during its 1st salvo, d pa sya kilala n ang sikat nun is motorola na flips but eventually nagustuhan ng tao coz of d features rather dan d old timer motorola
trust me, its not dat easy 2 be convinced but once a fren of urs or if u hav one, ul know n ul appreciate.....
peace!!! not askin 4 a debate., im jas sharing my point of view.... guday!

L-L-J, Mukhang pareho yung Mannix alarm ng Boomerang Alpha 2000. Made in Korea din with all the features available in the market. Nasira lang recently. Nagkamali ng kabit ng battery sa sasakyan ko kaya yon dead na siya. I bought this sa HK.
Merong bang warranty yung Mannix? Service center? Sino yung authorize dealer ng Mannix na mahusay mag install. Paki bigay naman yung addresses. My wheels is an XTO A/T.
Thanks,

hey guys.. im currently shopping for a new car alarm... brought it down to my last two choices... clifford a3 and the mannix system...
both costs the same so its no issue... clifford is US made.. mannix is korean/taiwan i think... the only thing i like about the mannix is the remote start... but it's reliability hasnt been tested yet... the clifford definitely will last a long time since my previous alarm system was a clifford intellivoice
so what do u guys think? thanks peeps...

Pwede ang remote start sa manual tranny. Pero sa States, it is prohibited by law.
