1. not designed to function as a dashcam, primary concern is overheating and premature hardware failure.
2. dashcams with similar hardware specs with the qube dashcam have comparable or better performance than the gopro session.
3. if you are willing to fork out the 20k or so price for the gopro session, you might as well go get yourself a branded dedicated dashcam like thinkware inavi. gopro's are not worth the money to be used as a daily dashcam.
Only the charging part, i use it on a variety of things not just a dash cam, got it online for less than 11k bnew and for that price its not bad for a do it all camera, about its ruggedness, pls chk youtube what action camera they are most people are using in shooting sports, surfing, mountain biking and reviewing cars. Another plus is the fast ios/andriod App, save, edit, post on the fly with an iphone.
mukhang G1W-CB ang tinitibok ng aking bulsa at puso. unless may lalabas pa na mas maganda at mas mura.
within this month meron nako siguro.
may hotwire kit nga ba para hindi nakasaksak sa cigarette socket? yung hindi pangparking mode ha. balak kong ihotwire sa ignition + or sa cigarette lighter circuit. para full time sa phone charging yung cig socket.
Tested the Qube X-Cam A7 (my unboxing here) this night.
Screencaps: Imgur: The most awesome images on the Internet
Observations:
- Night video quality at 2560x1080*30fps is very good. Sorry no video sample at the moment, shitty ang upload speeds ko. Will test other modes , quite interesting is yung HDR mode 1920x1080*30fps
- Maalog onti as I suctioned it at the rearview mirror
- Approx 500-600MB per 5 minute video on highest setting
- It wrote on my Toshiba 64GB microsd with no hiccups
Stock 60/55W headlight, 35% VLT tint
Ito advise ko, pagbibili kayo ng dashcam at hangang sa 3k lang talaga ang kaya ng budget, either get a G1W-CB (preferably capacitor type) or get a sj4000. wala ng mas mura at mas maganda pa nyan. wag na sayangin ang pera nyo sa mga 1k o 2k na mga dashcam na parang laruan galing sa divisoria.
just found out something about dp220. I was trying to download an incident. sadly I set it in 1 minute and the incident was splitted into 2 files. there's was a gap of around 5 seconds. I think it takes the dp220 5 seconds to delete a file to free up some space for the next recording. anybody experience this yet?

Qube Aurora, nasa page 148...
8GB lang ang spare microsd ko. At highest setting, estimate nya 20+mins lang ang runtime. Pag 720p 30fps, kaya 2 hrs plus, enough na for my commutes until I get a 64GB one (officially up to 32GB support lang)
not wanting to start an argument, pero kailangan ba talaga ng malaking memory card for a "dedicated" dashcam?
i believe importante lang naman recorded yung immediately after an incident, which is just a few minutes.
around 1 hour of video should be enough. ang imporante sa memory card reliable saka mabilis mag-write.
the only reason i use a 16g memory card is because my dashcam doubles as an action cam pag may outing.
peace!
There's no argument really. We have our different priorities
May upcoming trips ako Manila-Pagudpud vv, Manila-Naga vv. I would like to record all of its entirety. The X-Cam at its highest resolution, records 5 minute intervals amounting to 500-600MB size.
Price difference ng 64GB vs 32GB of reliable brands is marginal depending where you look at. Get more for a little more na lang ika nga
if you are running a dashcam that shoots full HD or super HD at high framerates for better quality, you will atleast need 32gb of memory to record atleast 2 hours of video and have allowance for those video files that you manually lock and save in the protected folder.
orayt! good inputs. sa personal experiences natin nakakatulong tayo dun sa iba on what will work for them if they decide to get a dashcam.
personally kasi i just use 720p para smaller file size saka madaling itransfer. hindi ko naman nirereview yung video so i don't need a record of the entire trip. i bought one of those card reader na pwede sa android phone (cdrking) para pwede kaagad ma-view sa phone yung video (for bigger screen). napansin ko kasi nung 1080p parang nagstutter sa pag-play sa phone ko (old note2).
