sa price range ng below 10k extra features like change lane, collision detection, motion detection, park mode o kung ano-ano pang gimik ng mga dashcams ay buggy at hindi mo naman kadalasan ginagamit. i will not trust those features with my life though it is nice to have them, WHEN they actually work properly.

hiirap i-contest ang aksidente kung may malinaw ka na video evidence kung ano talaga ang nangyayari. Yung speed indicator minsan ikaw pa ang mapahamak kung naka encode rin yung speed mo sa video dahil kadalasan over the speed limit tayo nagmamaneho, kahit kasalanan ng other party pag may ebidensiya na overspeeding ka, ay quits kayo. LOL.

panget lang talaga yug image quality ng transcend 220 for the 7k price you are paying. kelangan nasa malapit at sa harap mo, mga 3 meters sa experience ko, yung kotse para legible ang plaka. pagmadilim, wag ka ng umasa may mababasa ka pa.

Agree. gps, speed log, g sensors and etc. are all just extra frills. the most important thing sa dash cam is image quality. The extra features are not bad really but they are not essential and more often than not are only added to justify the bloated prices of these cameras.. If you got the cash, by all means, splurge on all the features you want. But if you're on a budget, just get a cam with excellent video capability, that will be enough.

yes pero wala po yang speed log at gps sensors. minsan sa dashcam important na naka indicate ang speed mo dahil yan ang madalas kino-contest ng mga naaaksidente na "mabagal" lang naman daw takbo nila.

yung drivepro 220 bumili na ako. nakaka aliw yung mga alerts nya especially pag mabilis ka magpatakbo, change lane, collision detection, etc. mukhang happy naman ako dito sa transcend.

Disable your g sensor or set it to low when driving. Enable it to high when parked.

Puno agad protected memory mo pag naka medium o high while driving.

Also, set to record in 1 minute interval. Para d matagal mag copy ng specific file via wifi o tru your pc.

Imho lang po.

How close do you need to be to use the video as evidence in an accident?

Re: overspeeding

If you are overspeeding and it caused or reasonably aggravated the probability of the accident, then you are either at fault or merely contributed to the damage.

Otherwise, hindi yan quits. Masisingil mo la din siya ng participation fee. Quits lang yan if magpapasindak ka.

Re: night

Unless you have a night vision dashcam, it will almost always be hard to see the plate.

Re: extra features

I use the gps and video stamping. That is additional evidence of the time and place of the accident.

The wifi feature is very handy. Downloaded my videos thru wifi.

Others, not much use imho.

In city driving, overspeeding is useless. May stoplight kasi at traffic.

Highway and provincial is another matter, but not an excuse to overspeed.

like i have previously said before, there are far better options that give better video quality and sharpness that are way much cheaper than the transcend 220.
video stamping comes standard with dashcams, gps is optional. even the very affordable sj4000 does better and it's less than half the price.

you spend 7k that can't decently record video in low light conditions? that seems smart.

if you are overspeeding and a crash occurs, even though the other initiated the contact. both are at deemed at fault. kaya hindi advisable naka stamp sa video ang speed mo because it can be used against you.

youtube nalang kayo and compare actual sample videos of the transcend 220 with the sj4000. panoorin nyo atleast 720p para magkaalaman gaano ka basura ang quality ng transcend for 7k.

There is a reason why it is called a mobile phone and not a dashcam.

It will kill the battery and eat up the phone memory, not to mention that too much exposure to the sun will have an effect on the material.

Agreed. Bumili ako ng GoPro thinking I'd enjoy using it as a dashcam. Then I realized masyadong mahal yun para laspagin lang araw araw. I ended up buying a generic dashcam in Amazon. 30$ lang, serves its purpose, tapos iniiwan ko lang madalas nakainstall sa kotse. Hehehe

Hassle naman mag clip off and clip on ng dashcam. So yeah, just leave it there. After all, built naman high temp mga dashcam (presumably) since mainit naman talaga sa loob ng kotse pag naka park.

Dati i still remove the dashcam (but retain the holder attached - sj4000) pag nakapark ako sa walang shade.

pero lately, hindi ko na tinatanggal and wala namang nagiging issue. nasa likod naman siya kasi nung windshield cover.

kelan nag kokompute ng speed ang mga opisyal? alam lang nila paano mag compute sa discount ng kokotongin.

wag na tayo maglokohan, wide street vs narrow street at low light. syempre mas malinaw ang kuha sa narrow street dahil focused at nagrereflect yung ilaw sa headlight sa mga nearby structures kaya mas madali ma absorb ng lens. kakalubog pa ng araw (6pm) sa kuha transcend versus late in the evening (9pm) na yung sa sj.

7k vs 3k+ na sjcam? bili ka nalang ng dalawa sj may rear cam ka pa at may dalawang action ka para sa mga outing mo. yan ang punto. overpriced ang transcend sa presyong binabayaran mo.

as much as possible, remove at itago sa glove box o under the seats nyo yung dashcam kapag matagal kayo nag papark sa open na lugar at mainit dahil nasisira din ang mga components nyan lalo na yung battery.

ginagawa ko yan pag sa open space ako nagpark at maaraw. Yung dati ko kasing dashcam iniwan ko lang sa sasakyan one morning then kinabukasan ayaw na gumana. Inamoy ko, amoy sunog yung loob. Hehehe.
