Try PC worx in megamall. I got my transcend 200 for 5k. 220 will be a bit exoensive but definitely good price. Tawad tawad lang

Just sharing what I did to breathe new life into my old dashcam.

I still have my original dashcam which started this thread that I bought way back in 2012. It's now installed on my second vehicle.

For the past year, the battery has shown its age by not keeping a charge longer than 30 seconds. But since last month, this has gone down to just 5 seconds and then to nil. When I opened it up, I saw that the old battery has become bloated. Nothing else wrong with the cam, so I decided to look for a similar-sized replacement Li-Ion battery. Incidentally, the closest match that's commonly available appears to be one that is meant for an iPod. I bought it from that battery kiosk in SM North Cyberzone. Installed the new battery and the dashcam is now good as new.

The new battery pack is a bit expensive at P750. But it seems to be a quality product. It even came with plastic pry tools meant to open up the iPod. Though I didn't need those to open the dashcam, these will come in handy in the future. An alternative was to use cheap cellphone batteries (P250-300), but I just simply don't trust them..... Images of my car catching fire because of a P250 battery. No thanks!

Sorry, I didn't have the foresight to take pictures. Below is roughly what the new battery looks like. It measures around 3 x 5 x 0.5 cm:


Only two wires are in use by the dashcam... red and black. The white wire is the battery temperature sensor that the iPod uses. I just left that disconnected.

There is a reason why it is called a mobile phone and not a dashcam.

It will kill the battery and eat up the phone memory, not to mention that too much exposure to the sun will have an effect on the material.

sa mga gusto mag dashcam pero limited budget lang, just get the sj4000. sulit na po sya at dual purpose, dashcam at may action cam ka pa.

yes pero wala po yang speed log at gps sensors. minsan sa dashcam important na naka indicate ang speed mo dahil yan ang madalas kino-contest ng mga naaaksidente na "mabagal" lang naman daw takbo nila.

yung drivepro 220 bumili na ako. nakaka aliw yung mga alerts nya especially pag mabilis ka magpatakbo, change lane, collision detection, etc. mukhang happy naman ako dito sa transcend.

sa price range ng below 10k extra features like change lane, collision detection, motion detection, park mode o kung ano-ano pang gimik ng mga dashcams ay buggy at hindi mo naman kadalasan ginagamit. i will not trust those features with my life though it is nice to have them, WHEN they actually work properly.

hiirap i-contest ang aksidente kung may malinaw ka na video evidence kung ano talaga ang nangyayari. Yung speed indicator minsan ikaw pa ang mapahamak kung naka encode rin yung speed mo sa video dahil kadalasan over the speed limit tayo nagmamaneho, kahit kasalanan ng other party pag may ebidensiya na overspeeding ka, ay quits kayo. LOL.

panget lang talaga yug image quality ng transcend 220 for the 7k price you are paying. kelangan nasa malapit at sa harap mo, mga 3 meters sa experience ko, yung kotse para legible ang plaka. pagmadilim, wag ka ng umasa may mababasa ka pa.
