First time car buyer her and was thinking of getting the Transcend DP220 as I read mostly good reviews about it. I guess what I wanted to know is if it's advisable to have it hard-wired into the car? What are the pros and cons? Your inputs will greatly be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

It depends on the brand. When I bought my Vios in 2012, I asked if changing the horn would be OK. My agent said it would void my warranty. So I just had the casa do it even if it was more expensive. Hard-wiring a dash cam would involve cutting wires, which would be a similar case. Ask your dealer before proceeding.

G1w-CB (capacitor, Php2,500) or Yi Dash Camera (battery, around Php3,000)

Yi has a better review but G1W also has good feedbacks.
Yi supposedly has focus problems under hot environment.

G1W CB is still a good buy today. The Yi has superior video quality though. Just remove the the cam when necessary.

I moved my DP220 to my new car, and I just wanted something cheap to use on my old car before it gets sold. So I ended up with a CDR-King "Black" dash cam (CAM-BL-RE001-ZHI) for 1,580.00 today. Youtube videos look tolerable, and the user manual has lots of errors. So I'm not expecting much when I take it out for the first time today. At least I get a 6-month warranty, which is more than the other models in the same price range I saw in the mall.

This I can say, the chipset of that CDRking is super old. I would never recommend as dashcam below 2.5-3k. You will eventually replace it because it broke or because of it's horrible quality.

I agree. I wouldn't recommend it to loved ones and friends. But as I said, I just needed something cheap that I wouldn't mind bundling with the car when I sell it. I used it yesterday and its tolerable at daytime. I've seen worse for the same price.

Done installing Viofo A119 dashcam to the ASX. I used a 5V USB hard wiring kit and Mini fuse tap holder for clean installation. Hide the wire inside the headliner and side panels.

Actually, 2 pcs mounting brackets kasama sa box. Bale spare yung isa. Pareho sila with 3M VHB. Detachable naman yung dashcam from the bracket if you want to remove it.

Bro update mo kami after summer kung ok parin kapit vhb despite of the heat. gusto ko bumili vhb tape, kaso pricey. kung ok naman kapit, bili ako hehehe
