Capturing more area is the main positive of a wider FoV but on the flipside, objects look farther than in reality. I noticed this when I reviewed the footages from the DP200, which has a really wide 160 degree FoV lens. This is just a personal preference though. I'm just hoping that dashcam manufacturers will give a selectable/adjustable FoV setting in the future so users will have a choice based on their preferred FoV, like some action cameras do para everybody happy. :D
You might want to try the dual lenses it has a reduced FOV compared to DP200
