In my opinion mas ok na cheap android phone na lang gamitin with a suitable windshield mount. I am using my S4 pero umiinit sya especially when you have both dailyroads voyager and spotify running linked via Bluetooth. Yung full charge, half na lang pag dating ko sa destination after 1hr.

Ang maganda kasi sa mga phone is that the apps that are available have more functions like speed, location, etc. Yung nabili kong tig 2500 sa Blade minsan nag rerecord minsan hindi. So it is not reliable.

and yung mga dash cam na nabibili sa blade (or concorde, cdrking), i believe gawa sa china mostly, so the quality is compromised din.

im not sure with any cheap android phone na gagawing dash cam. wala syang recycle function (delete/overwrite old files).

Disadvantage:

1. Hassle pag aalis ka kasi need mo kabit / tanggal yung phone.
2. The phone heats up esp kung may added apps like Spotify running too. Kung walang tint yung windshield mo babad sa araw yung phone adding to the heat.
3. Minsan nag ha hang yung app. Dahil siguro since uminit na yung phone.
4. Pag kumalas yung windshield holder mo sira yung phone mo pag bumagsak.

Advantage:

1. I see the capture to be better (mas malinaw).
2. Instant playback. Pag wala ka magawa puede mo review byahe mo.
3. Speed and location can be embedded sa video (app dependent).
4. Real-time upload to remote server (not sure about this and haven't tried this. requires boredband connection). Added security sa recorded files.

Anyway, is that the best choice right now?
Is it really advisable na gamitin dashcam ang iphone or android phone?

Ok naman pero baka madaling masira yung phone due to the heat stress. I make sure na may part ng aircon na tumatama sa phone esp during daytime. Wala kasi akong front tint.
