    well, if you are planning a trip... you can let it lock on it's current position (your trip's starting point) on the night before. Otherwise, you just have to wait in your car for it to lock on its current position.

    Honestly, it's not really worth the effort to "pre-lock" the GPS the night before just to save a minute or two.
