December 27th, 2010 01:36 AM #383beni23: bro eto naman talaga ang budget setup ko for many months now and I think I sent you a PM before already. Anyways I will send you another PM. One year warranty and better than the output of Gen4-5. Ok some people asking me ano ba difference ng 'bolt on' projectors ko and my budget setup vs ibang bolt on setup. Here's the rundown:
a. I use a different projector than whats normally offered ng ibang retrofitter. Different than Gen1,2,3 or 5. My modified bixenon projector gives out an intense and wide output. Wala pa akong nakikitang projector na 'bolt-on' that can match this projector as of today. Of course I can use cheaper projectors pero ang logic ko lang, you go through all the trouble in opening the headlights, mediocre performing projectors pa kakabit mo? doesnt make sense.
b. HID syst: most bolt on projectors come with a packaged bulb and ballasts. I do not use these type of bulbs and ballasts coz in my experience they package the cheapest hid syst to go with the projectors and the bulbs/ballasts combo dont perform very well. I use Philips China bulbs and slim type ballasts with the same internals as oem ballasts and have a failure rate of less than 0.5%! Hassle mawalan ng ilaw sa gabi coz nagfail yung ballasts or bulbs.
c. the shrouds I use are much nicer than the package shroud from bolt on packages. going back to the logic na ginawa mo na rin, gawin mo na ng mabuti at of course maganda, hehe.
d. I use an oem spec wiring harness to power the hid syst. You dont want to fry your harness just to save 1-2k.
e. Most 'installers' use silicon to reseal the headlight. I dont think you will see any oem headlights sealed with silicon. There is a reason for that. I use oem headlight sealant to reseal my retros.
f. I offer one year warranty on all my retros, parts and service. I've done many retrofits in 2 years. Believe me, you would like warranty to be on your side and a reasonable time to get the replacement or repair the problem.
g. I personally do all me retros with an assistant. This is something I am passionate about. I am not a hired hand and I value the work that I do.
Doing a proper retrofit is not just opening your headlamps and sticking in a set of projectors. Well yun lang nga big deal na coz you will open your headlights and take apart the original sealant. Pag hindi properly nabalik, problema yan. well pag umuulan lang namanMany things you need to consider about the electricals, aiming, reliability, etc. Of course only if you want to do it the right way, you need to consider these things. I implemented the above improvements sa retro ko over a period of time and after doing many retros kasi I believe all the above things make for a better overall retrofit. I do not want to shave off a few thousand pesos tapos masama naman experience para sa client and sa akin. Several people inquired kasi and asked why the difference in price so I hope na explain ko ng konti.

Wow. Naliwanagan na rin ako.
Question pala, totoo ba na may life span ang FXR lens after 2000 clicks of high beam?
Same with the Modified H1 projectors, meron din ba life span yung projector?
Can we use the Apollo Shrouds / Lexus shrouds sa Modified H1?
At... pa-PM pala ng total cost nung Modified H1, using my current ballast. Thank you in Advance. I hope makasunod ako kay denki this coming year

re: solenoid
I don't think so. Most electromagnetic solenoids are designed to have a life cycle of 1 or 2 million. At ten flicks/day, thats 100,000 days sa 1 million life cycle. It is a simple electromagnet so wala naman masisirang madali dun. Winding lang if ever and if you see the actual solenoid maganda naman quality and the moving part is very small. It would be the least of my concern. Just to make it clear, it is not the lifespan of the projector we are discussing but the solenoid or actuator that pulls down the shield when you flick the HI switch. Other than that the projector will last as long as the car if you use 35w bulbs.
A blessed new year to all tsikoteers! Mabuhay tayong lahat!Last edited by garyq; December 31st, 2010 at 12:48 PM.
Oh I see! That explains why the brembo pads seem to have a different design. The original Akebono...
