Good bright headlight to replace the stock headlight?

I've been using Philips Ultinon Essential with the wick-type heatsink (no fan). It's not as bright as other kits out there, but cutoff is clean and eyeing the car when someone else was driving it doesn't look to be glaring.

Disadvantage is these are relatively low wattage LEDs so light output isn't a lot more than halogen. I consider them as being more of an aesthetic upgrade, and hopefully a longevity one. One of the selling points of LEDs after all was a longer life than the old fluorescent or incandescent lamps.

does your statement mean that you can recommend Novsight which offers brighter than stock illumination that does not blind approaching drivers?

there are plenty of novsight models. look for the model that's like this. three TINY DOMELESS leds under some kind of shroud that works the same as the shroud on an H4 halogen, that's what gives the low-beam cutoff. however as dr.kamiya said, these things aren't lumen monsters. you just can't generate lots of lumens with the six tiny low-beam LEDs (three on the other side)

FWIW, Novsight sells LED bulbs across the spectrum.... from OEM-spec, up to off-road spec LED bulbs.

The OEM-spec or near-OEM models are almost like the ones Philips and Osram makes. They're brighter than halogen but since they're not THAT much brighter, the glare is negligible or practically non-existent. But once you go up the hi-lumens models, so goes the lumens of the glare.

It's important to note that halogen reflectors won't be as good as projectors, even with halogen bulbs, but it's not to say you can't use an LED drop-in bulb in it. Especially if the LED's light output is just marginally brighter than halogen.

personally, ang tagal ko nang pinag iisipan kung papalitan ko headlight ng City ko to Orion

(why Orion, lakas nila mag advertise sa FB ko. hehehe. and another City owner told me that he's using their bulbs... kailangan ko daw talaga dalhin sa shop nila for alignment kasi malaki ilalakas ng headlight ko if I change bulbs)

iyong auxito brand mukhang ok din . i got a pair of park lights and pulido ang pagkagawa ng led bulbs nila. well designed and hindi gawa sa waso-wasong materials.

i haven't had any experience w/ their headlight led bulbs though .

I use mostly Auxito and Osram for T10, T15 and T20 LEDs. Novsight on the headlights.

Better in what?

But to answer your question at face value, not necessarily. Start with a reputable brand then make sure that the specific model you choose is for the right application. Cooling methods are not that crucial for as long as it is designed for it... hence, the need to pick a good brand (one that has done sufficient R&D) and using the correct bulb for the application.
