ako din, I flash lights when overtaking big and\or taller (in stance compared to mine) vehicles to let them know i am behind them and of my intent. sometimes guilty ako of flashing headlights when i am on the right-of-way or main road tapos may gusto tumawid and sobra lapit na niya. hindi imposible, pero mahirap nang baguhin how majority of drivers think sa pinas. one has to go with the flow. re-education ang kailangan diyan sa lahat ng drivers, imho.

Kadalasan PUJs, taxis and tricycles ang gumagawa nito, that's why they're the only ones I flash when they're at least 7 to 8 car lengths away and travelling slowly.

Also in Japan, it means if you get flashed pinapauna ka.

That's a mistake that most British drivers do. Part 90 of the UK Highway Code states that you only flash your headlights to let others know of your presence. Part 91 specifically states that if another driver flashes his headlights, never assume that it is a signal to go.

i flash my high beam only to incoming vehicles with their headlights on high. if they lowered theirs same as me but if they stick to high well silawan na lang kami di sila marunong gumamit ng high beams nila but pag mga trucks or buses hindi ko sila sinisilaw baka sagasaan ako. arrruy...

    I do both

In a two way (one liner)[ano ba dapat tawag?=)]Anyway, I use my headlight to say go ahead you may pass stop naman kami eh(Usually in a area that has no stoplight).. baka ako makabara pagtraffic..(in the itersection area). And just an Exaggeration, baka yung traffic sa buong city kakagawan ko lng na hindi ako nag padaan. hehehehe

On the part that I've to make my turn left and use my Headlight.

Unfortunately no. Just this morning as I was about to turn left from HV dela Costa to the ramp of EPCIB, with my signal lights on, nobody would give me way despite that the opposite lane was slow moving due to heavy traffic.

Yesterday, at the same spot, since a Patrol was around 6 car lengths from where I was turning, I was nearly halfway into my turn and that Patrol and Pajero behind it started barreling down nearly clipped my front bumper.

Inasmuch as you don't want to do things that are irritating to other people, sometimes you just need to do it just to get noticed. Funny thing is that what ever law that is applied in US and UK does not apply here because of the type of drivers we have here locally.

This really really ticks me off. Minsan mas ok pang wag na sumenyas when switching lanes dahil dito e. You can see them na normal lang yung takbo and you're clearly ahead, pero para di na sila mag accelerate senyas ka... Tapos chaka sila hahataw at di ka padadaanin. Really stupid.

i also don't do the flashing thing when turning. pero minsan, kapag walang may gustong magpadaan sa akin, as in more than 1min na akong naka signal, i try to flash my headlights na.

I rarely flash in an effort to get the right of way. I only flash to warn especially when safety can be compromised (e.g. passing) or when asking some dumb dork on the expressway to vacate the passing lane.

When turning I just use the turn signals. But there are some a**hole drivers that will literally block the intersection even though the road you are turning into is all clear. I turn on my highbeams (not flash) and binubusinahan ko na. Bastos na kasi, eh.

Or I tell the traffic enforcer to wake up and do his job. Garapalan kasi dito sa paligid ng UST kapag rush hour.
