Bolt-on bi-xenon projectors

Hey guys

Just a quick question , what if Hid is used on a stock projector instead of a halogen? Will the output be same ? Glare rin ba?

Different halogen projectors react differently with regards to glare. If you are lucky that there is minimal or no glare, the output will improve in brightness but distance and width will almost be the same since these are dependent of the projector's bowl design which didn't change.

Ano kaya problem nung hid ko. Pag initial na bukas ayaw niya umilaw. Kelangan ko pa iflash o high beam para siya umilaw then saka ko ibabalil sa low. Minsan namamatay pa rin kaya flash ulit ako para umilaw. Mga 2 years na rin ata yung projector. Gen 3 ata yung sa akin. Kelangan na kaya palitan ung bulb? San ok bumili? Thanks

If you used BiX in your retrofit, and your low beams ARE ALREADY ON you can use the flash your lights as it only flips down the solenoid blocking the light. You can do this everytime till your car is old and gray. No need to change your habit.

Remember that this instance is applicable only when your HIDs are in low beam. Doing otherwise will stress your ballast and bulb.
Also, it won't work (high beam won't light up) as HIDs needs 4-5 seconds of warming up before going full brightness, much unlike halogen bulb.

i guess, i need to look for other options since I rely too much on high beam during the day as pass light more than using the horn (unless I always use the HL even in the day)

^ Fast HIDs are already in the market. You don't need a second to turn them on.

hello po. i've read this thread from page one. Please advise what would be a decent setup for my B14 sentra. Planning to get Koito Q5 kasi parang siya yung nakikita ko na ok ang reviews. Kakasya kaya yung projector sa headlight ng B14? Saka iniisip ko po kung oorder ako online or mas mabuti na dito nalang. sa mga nagreretrofit para sa warranty claims

tol, ano na gamit mong projectors? nag upgrade ka na sa Q5 mo?

Grumaduate na sa bolt on. RX350 bixenon na with bosch ballast na self modified para maging adjustable to 35-43-50-60w. No turning back anymore unless bagong HL.

*shok - thanks paps. san po ma recommend ninyo na seller ng Q5? may nakikita po ako sa sulit. 10K with installation. reasonable na po ba yung price kesa mag order pa ko online at magbabayad pa ko ng installation.

lastly, anong bulb type po ba yung mga Telescopic na HID na binebenta dito satin?

parang alam ko yung seller na yun sa sulit. si pao ata, daming good feedback. kaso mas okay yung setup ni shok in the last page, kasi OEM bulb and ballast na gamit nya. so I think 10k is good enough price na for a package, kaso I if kaya pag mag ipon, ipon muna, kasi yun yung balak ko.. hehehe.

afaik, meron rin syang FXR projectors, start at 15k yung pricing.

*chyll2 thanks. tumitingin ako sa retrofit source mukhang ok rin. nag inquire ako and nirecommend sakin yung morimoto D2S 3.0 sila na PNP. So gagamitin ko existing ballast ng HID ko. baka hinde ako masatisfy unless kuwa ako ng magandang ballast.

B14 sentra paps oto ko. HID ko boss yung china H4 telescopic lang na 6000k. sabog kasi yung liwanag kaya kahit maliwanag ilaw parang kung saan saan lang. hirap ako pag biyahe sa gabi

Ah ganyan nga ang characteristic ng PNP H4 telescopic. Maliwanag sa harap pero hindi focused ang ilaw kaya pang malapitan lang at nakakaglare din.
Diba meron ng harness yan at ballasts? You can just try to get the projectors, shrouds at D2S bulbs na lang. Kung hindi lang nakareserve yung Q5-R setup ko for a friend iooffer ko sa yo. Try to inquire also at firedrake lighting in BF since malapit lang sa yo to compare.

Yup, ordered it abroad. All in all the current setup with 2nd hand OEM Bosch ballasts and old stock new Osram 66040 bulbs is just 15K siguro since I reused the shrouds and harness. Nakaswerte lang sa ballasts at bulbs. The bosch gen 2 are super expensive kahit sa china kahit used at hiwalay pa yung igniter pag binili. Di pa pala clear lens yung RX350 ko. I'm still undecided if I will upgrade to clear kasi mas less straining sa mata yung fresnel lens although less ang intensity overall compared to Q5. Honestly, minsan nakakadistract yung color band ng clear lens na sa kanya ako napapatingin instead of the road ahead. Hehe. Ang advantage, wider coverage and better light distribution.

Not Morimoto original Mini H1, but my first setup was a Super Mini H1 w/55w ballast c/o Pao.
The Mini H1 is a huge improvement over stock halogen. It looks nice on the wall kasi at pantay ang liwanag pag tiningnan sa pader. Pero pag on road na, masyadong maliwanag ang foreground lighting nya. This in effect makes your pupil dilate kaya nagsusuffer yung distance vision. The hotspot is also not as intense and big compared to Q5-R so this doesn't help.
The Q5-R naman has very good distance vision but width is just a tad narrower than the Mini H1 because the cutoff bows down sa sides. Although sa on road use, di mo na ito mapapansin masyado. It lights the road uniformly from foreground to where the cutoff lands at the distance. Sa wall shots, maliwanag yung cutoff nya sa gitna, then padilim sya ng padilim sa ibaba.
Sa high beam, mas malayo ang reach nya sa Mini H1 dahil sa mas malaki at mas intense na hotspot. The Q5 at 35W is actually better in terms of effective lighting a Mini H1 *55W.
I believe this is the best bolt on projector as what others who used/have used this in this thread says. So if you are really set on a bolt on projector. Ito na agad ang dapat pagipunan.Pero kung for show lighting lang and not overly concerned with lighting performance, pwede na Mini H1 with all the angel/devil eyes that you can fit in since this is the cheapest most decent bolt on naman that is a good upgrade from halogen stock.

One disadvantage pala ng Q5 Vs MH1 that should be taken into consideration is the original halogen bulb used by the HL.
Kung single filament yung low beam like H7, hindi mo mareretrofit ang Q5 without cutting, while the MH1 pwede.
The Q5 is for headlight using dual filament bulbs like H4/9003/HB2 only kung bolt on application. Pwede pa din naman sa iba but full retro na with cutting ng reflector bowl, which in this case ay meron pang ibang mas magandang projectors kung magdadagdag sa budget.

D2S bulb ba sir sakto doon sa harness ng ballast ko? kasi may nakikita pa ako amp - D2S adaptor e. sige sir i google ko yung Firedrake mas ok mapuntahan ko para alam ko yung kukunin ko.

Btw 35W lang yung existing ballast ko.
