Just like to ask your opinions regarding CTPL coverage. does its coverage acceptable for third party injuries, loss of body parts or, loss of life? what do you do if you want bigger coverage for this?

also what does No Fault imdemnity do, or if it does save you from criminal liability kung makaaksidente ka ng tao?

    thanks!

afaik, CTPL is only for third party. meaning pag may nakabangga ka tapos may nadamay sa banggaan nyo like pedestrians or other vehicles or infrastructure, yun ang covered ng CTPL. afaik, up to 50k ang coverage lang talaga nyan. no more no less. if you want bigger coverage, then sasaluhin yan ng comprehensive insurance kung meron ka.

on the no fault indemnity, technically, ganun na nga. kung accidents kung baga, its not your fault, pero again, the tao na naaksidente mo should be a third-party, hindi second party. kung baga, kung direcho mo nabangga yung tao o yung sasakyan ng tao, second party pa lang sya. pero halimbawa, may nabangga ka, tapos yung nabangga mo, tumama sa isang tricycle na may sakay, yun yung sagot ng CTPL mo.

Hi raizen! Sir, the CTPL cover today is P100K (before po P50K lang). Since it's a gov't requirement to get one, particularly during your annual car registration in LTO, it only covers 3rd party BI (Bodily Injury). So in case may passenger or by-stander po na nasaktan dahil sa aksidente on the road, CTPL po ang una nating gagamitin. Any excess po will be covered under your comprehensive insurance policy.

In this light, makikita rin po natin ang advantage/benefit of getting a comprehensive car insurance aside from the required CTPL.

sir just curious... kailan po nag start or maging effective yung 100k sa CTPL? I had my vehicle registered last January 2008 and yung CTPL cover nya is still 50k.

(Well I don't worry much on this cause my compre covers up to 200k for Bodily Injury).

Per our underwriting division, Jan 2007 pa po Sir nag-effect yung CTPL cover, from P50K to P100K. Check with your Insurer Sir, sayang din yung coverage nyo po sa CTPL para hindi nyo rin kaagad i-charge sa BI cover nyo na P200K.

Premium for CTPL is P560.00 (inclusive of taxes na po iyon) applicable for sedans, van, pick-up, wagon, na private vehicles.

In case you have further queries Sir, please feel free to call us.

    Happy motoring!

I-correct ko lang po ito ha, baka may makabasa tapos ma-confuse. Yung "third-party" dun sa TPL ay yung victim(s), regardless kung yung direct hit mo or nadamay lang. Ang direct hit, hindi yan "second party"... since we're talking within the context of the insurance policy, the "second party" is the insurance company, while the "first party" is obviously the insured. Sila ang first and second parties dahil ang contract (policy) is between them.

I hope this clarifies things and prevents confusion of readers of this thread.

TPL is the general term, but mostly used to mean CTPL. The one that normally comes with the Comprehensive is actually called a VTPL (V = Voluntary) ... that's the one typically split into "Bodily Injury" and "Property Damage" in your policy.
