January 15th, 2010 01:02 PM #1Hi! My 6 month old car, hyundai tucson, was fully submerged in the flood during Ondoy (flood reached ceiling of our one story house). We've been asking the insurance, MAPFRE, to declare it total loss but they wouldn't budge. They simply want to repair it. Our neighbor's Innova, same month purchased, was given total loss coverage by Malayan. I heard of another na 1 year old Montero given total loss din by another insurance company. Who amongst you had similar experience na was given total loss by the insurance? or is there anyone having MAPFRE insurance and was given total loss? I totally regret getting MAPFRE insurance. They are the worst people to deal with, and I must say the most inconsiderate. I wish we just had BPI/MS insurance coz with them,as soon as the flood level reached dashboard, it's for total loss. If only we had BPI/MS, we would not be having this problem now. It's lesson learned, from now on, all our cars will be insured only by BPI/MS.
would greatly appreciate your inputs. Thanks!
