Thanks Altis6453 for the tip, although I don't think I'll have enough para mag abono for the price of a bnew car. Major damage si Ondoy, so hinde lang car ang sinira sa'kin.

Sana yung iba na naghihintay pa na ma approve yung total loss nyo, ma approve kayo agad. If ever I do decide to accept mine (nasa 650k lang ma expect ko, 750k dati ang bagong jazz 1.3 at), I'll try to mention here kung anong mga pangyayari ang naganap, to give you guys an idea what to expect.

Here's crossing my fingesr for you.
Right now, hinde ko pa alam gagawin ko.

Standard Insurance faxed us their offer they gave us 3 options.
    a. they'll repair it with 6 months warranty but any further repairs must be proved that it is from flood damage.
    b. they'll give 130K cash to us to repair it in the casa but they will be absolved of any further claim
    c. cash payout of only 330K

The problem with A is that it is hard to prove that the damages that will be discovered in the future is from the flood.
The problem for b is that it is not enough since the estimate is already way over the value of the car 750K (all the computers and electrics are busted)
The problem for c is it's far below the value of the car which is about 460K in the market (05 altis)

I would rather have option c but it's kinda too low, i don't think that's fair since they should give the actual value of the car. I am just hoping they would up it to at least 400K since i don't want to have the headache of making any legal actions. Anyway i think the moral lesson is that next time we should insure our cars with BPI-MS instead of standard. We're thinking about changing our insurance of our other cars to BPI-MS. Anybody has experience dealing with them? Any advice? Standard is good with crash damage but somehow i really don't get them why they're doing this to flood damaged cars.

Anyway to end this story, we had one bit stroke of luck, since the car's plate ends in 1 the insurance sent us a reminder to renew our insurance for about 460K insured value. We were able to use it to force them to up their offer from 330K to 475K which is more than acceptable for us already. The car is now declared total loss and we're getting the 475K insured value. Good thing our insurance broker weinebrener is very helpful to us in the whole ordeal. I'm still kinda mad at standard for trying to lowball us, we would have accepted anything above 400K but 330K is just too much. I can't be too mad at them since they were relatively prompt in giving the LOA in my previous car accident damages (12 the past 10 years). Anyway we're thinking about raising the external garage height by a few meters so that this won't happen again. Hope that everyone here gets the happy ending that we just had.

We already filed a case against them to the insurance commission but it seems that we are still running on the same slow pace....Up to now they still didn't offer any amount since they decided that the car was for total loss. They didn't even bother to call or send a letter to update us of the status of the claim. I can say that they are really an epitome of a bad customer service.
may i know how'd you know the car was for total loss? how new is your car?how much would've been the cost of repair? was the casa supportive enough to declare it total loss?

I strongly suggest that anybody here who have a problem with their insurance company particularly Mapfre, to go to the Insurance Commission and file a formal complaint. The IC is very accommodating on this matter and will immediately set a dialogue between the claimants and the insurance company.
Mapfre will really make you wait a lifetime for your claims if you do not file a complaint. This is guaranteed because whether Mafre likes it or not, they will be forced by the IC to immediately attend on the complaints. Mapfre Insurance really sucks!

sinubukan kong magpa-quote sa Mapfre, ang bilis nilang magbigay.
basta kapag papunta sa kanila ang pera, sobrang bilis nila.
pero kapag sa ganyang mga kaso sobrang bagal nila.

I know for a fact that most of their personnel who's car also submerged during ondoy are all PAID-UP for total loss!!! Can you imagine that?

Guys need your advice. I'm planning to buy a Hyundai Tucson and was offered by the dealer to get MAPFRE Insurance. Irerelease na this week sana ang unit ko. Mukhang pag hindi ako kumuha ng insurance sakanila baka hindi ibigay sakin ang unit ko. Tingin niyo patulan ko nalang na kumuha ng insurance from MAPFRE?

do you mean na iipitin ka nila?....
hindi dapat na sila ang masusunod. ikaw ang gagastos at hindi sila.
better look for other insurance company.

I heard that's hyundai's scheme now. obviously mapfre is conniving with hyundai. Is this Hyundai Pasig? I know that's what they are doing. Why not ask for other dealers? With me I have resolved NEVER TO GET HYUNDAI AND NEVER EVER MAPFRE. If i were you I won't go for that. You've read through my post and to this day, we have not yet resolved the issue with mapfre. It has taken so much stress on us. I just hope there won't be Ondoy for you to have to experience what i had and later regret your decision of getting Mapfre. Whilst you still can, make an informed decision. And since there are so many other insurance companies, you should have the right to choose what insurance you want. Just my two cents.
