January 29th, 2010 09:22 AM #31Thanks Altis6453 for the tip, although I don't think I'll have enough para mag abono for the price of a bnew car. Major damage si Ondoy, so hinde lang car ang sinira sa'kin.
Sana yung iba na naghihintay pa na ma approve yung total loss nyo, ma approve kayo agad. If ever I do decide to accept mine (nasa 650k lang ma expect ko, 750k dati ang bagong jazz 1.3 at), I'll try to mention here kung anong mga pangyayari ang naganap, to give you guys an idea what to expect.
Here's crossing my fingesr for you.
Right now, hinde ko pa alam gagawin ko.

Anyway to end this story, we had one bit stroke of luck, since the car's plate ends in 1 the insurance sent us a reminder to renew our insurance for about 460K insured value. We were able to use it to force them to up their offer from 330K to 475K which is more than acceptable for us already. The car is now declared total loss and we're getting the 475K insured value. Good thing our insurance broker weinebrener is very helpful to us in the whole ordeal. I'm still kinda mad at standard for trying to lowball us, we would have accepted anything above 400K but 330K is just too much. I can't be too mad at them since they were relatively prompt in giving the LOA in my previous car accident damages (12 the past 10 years). Anyway we're thinking about raising the external garage height by a few meters so that this won't happen again. Hope that everyone here gets the happy ending that we just had.

February 26th, 2010 05:18 PM #34I strongly suggest that anybody here who have a problem with their insurance company particularly Mapfre, to go to the Insurance Commission and file a formal complaint. The IC is very accommodating on this matter and will immediately set a dialogue between the claimants and the insurance company.
Mapfre will really make you wait a lifetime for your claims if you do not file a complaint. This is guaranteed because whether Mafre likes it or not, they will be forced by the IC to immediately attend on the complaints. Mapfre Insurance really sucks!

March 19th, 2010 04:38 AM #38Guys need your advice. I'm planning to buy a Hyundai Tucson and was offered by the dealer to get MAPFRE Insurance. Irerelease na this week sana ang unit ko. Mukhang pag hindi ako kumuha ng insurance sakanila baka hindi ibigay sakin ang unit ko. Tingin niyo patulan ko nalang na kumuha ng insurance from MAPFRE?

March 24th, 2010 09:32 AM #40I heard that's hyundai's scheme now. obviously mapfre is conniving with hyundai. Is this Hyundai Pasig? I know that's what they are doing. Why not ask for other dealers? With me I have resolved NEVER TO GET HYUNDAI AND NEVER EVER MAPFRE. If i were you I won't go for that. You've read through my post and to this day, we have not yet resolved the issue with mapfre. It has taken so much stress on us. I just hope there won't be Ondoy for you to have to experience what i had and later regret your decision of getting Mapfre. Whilst you still can, make an informed decision. And since there are so many other insurance companies, you should have the right to choose what insurance you want. Just my two cents.
Yes I think those are standard freebies already. You get more freebies if you opt to get bank...
