I understand that but TRAIN would have been better if it targeted more the rich and not the poor:
    - raise if not retain the same rate of tax on luxury vehicles
    - tax savings on high (6-digits monthly) income individuals could have been nullified (same as the current)
    - increase tobacco tax to further discourage its use since the govt already bans smoking in public (but of course Mighty Tobacco is friends with Dutsbag so it didn’t happen)

The poor, including those without a regular job, already minimum wage earners (security guards, drivers, cleaners, everyone not working in an office) pensioners (our lolos and lolas who have no regular monthly income), families of OFWs will be hit harder with the surge in oil, electricity, goods and services prices. Pinoys are generally just too short sighted to see this.

I'm surprised that the Piston or whatever jeepney groups are not yet petitioning for a fare hike, they should be doing it this early as LTFRB says it is still subject to their approval.

The gov't could have also showed it is one with the people if they slashed if not entirely give up their pork barrels to help fund the projects, but nope, not Dee Gong's and his cohorts.

Best of luck to the unfortunate and the underprivileged, you’ll need more of it soon.

    huwag ka mag alala

    the middle class will shrink

pahirap nang pahirap ang buhay going forward

due to rising cost of living, many will struggle to maintain middle-class lifestyle, many will fall back to poverty level

those rising from poverty about to enter the middle class will be stopped in their tracks

This is something a lot easier said than done. You can't just target the rich, it is easier to target the middle class and the poor.

    - raise if not retain the same rate of tax on luxury vehicles ---> if retain, no additional income for the government. If taxes are increased exorbitantly, the rich would just buy something within their budget. Yes, the rich know how to budget, kaya nga sila naging rich. On the question on why luxury cars tax went down, eh sino bang mga bumibili ng mga ganyan, diba yung mga pulitiko ding nag-approve ng batas na yan

    - tax savings on high (6-digits monthly) income individuals could have been nullified (same as the current) ---> time to give the middle class a break... for the longest time ang laki laki ng tax na binabayaran. biruin mo 1/3 ng sweldo (32%) mo sa gobyerno pupunta. Unfortunately the govt needs to make bawi at mga sugary drinks, sasakyan, fuel, coal, tobacco, at cosmetics ang napagdiskitahan which would impact the poor. But i think ganun talaga ang buhay, we are the ones who elected this officials. For my strategy, i'll just retain my lifestyle with the increased net pay, and avoid as much as possible yung mga bagay na magmamahal. Yes there are inevitables like gasoline and inflation, but no one is preventing me from biking, walking, or buying cheaper yet more beneficial consumer goods (e.g. mixing corn with rice which is a lot cheaper and healthier). With this, I can beat the government legally.

    - increase tobacco tax to further discourage its use since the govt already bans smoking in public. ---> I strongly agree

ayaw ko maghirap ang middle class *uls, ang gusto ko lang sana magkaron sila ng quality time. this practice that they're doing social climbing like for example mga tiga QC or tiga Markina nagpupunta pa sa Fort or Makati, wag na dyan na lang kayo sa malls nyo. focus on your respective area and you will have wealth kasi laki ma-save nyo in terms of fuel, commutation, and cluttered mind . the reason why the middle class spends so much is becuase they trying to do so much to imitate the rich. they wanna be everywhere. and because of this pressure that they impose on themselves, they need more calories per day hence overeating that leads to obesity that leads to sickness and depression and lagi complain ng complain. settle in your respective communities and enrich it, kahit jologs pa mga kapitbahay nyo.

Correct. The poor don't pay income taxes even before this new TRAIN law. So wala din silang pagkukuhanan ng extra money to pay for the increases in taxes of some basic commodities and services.

at may petition na ang Piston to raise the min fare to 12 pesos. so domino effect.

We cannot be pro poor and be concerned at their take home pay. The purpose of the tax is to show the world that we are progressing and has the capability to pay the infrastructures. If we have a good taxation system, our credit ratings will improves and therefore i more investments.

Old Katwiran na yan na pano ang mahihirap, if we truly cared for the poor as citizens, then We should support the government. Their take home pay would never improve coz they don't know how to spend in The first place.

For instance, the jeepneys, lagi katwiran yan lang kaya nila kabuhayan, 50 years ganyan pa din sila. And they're taking us down with them, like the rotten apple basket scenario. If they're gonna revolt, that's only because we will support them. If we don't support them, San sila kukuha ng pero pang-revolt, eh sa coke lang hinde na mabibile ng Mura ngaun.

America, Singapore and Japan never adopted a pro-poor Policy, that's what makes them great.
And besides San lang ba tatamaan ang poor dito, it's either the fuel or the coke lang naman. If say a poor family of 10 children, earning minimum or below, imagine nyo yun 12 people in a family exempted sa income tax. San ka pa? Wala na kayo makikita gobyerno na ganito
