    its more expensive because of the packaging and shipping costs esp. if u buy them in small pet bottles, but if you buy them in bulk say like 5 gallons=the way u buy diesel (in bulk), it will end up cheaper than diesel

    Yes the packaging is more expensive, but you can get water almost anywhere.

    Oil has to be drilled from underneath the earth pa, sometimes using offshore rigs (which is totally not cheap ), not to mention you still have to put up refineries, ship them internationally via tankers and stuff.

    Its a pure marketing issue in my opinion. Those mineral water execs are laughing themselves to the bank.
