sir kimpoy, nakaka-ilang km/liter ang strada mo?
haaa????? eh ako ganon din dito sa manila. sa stretch of mindanao ave 100-120kph. hmmm parang nagdududa ako sa strada ko ah. teka ilang rpm? do you think the larger tires might have been one reason why my fuel consumption has gone up? or maybe another reason would be the short stretches of roads which makes me accelerate more? whats your stand on this?![]()
Si kimpOy kasi steady cruising ang 110 kph niya.
Yung sa iyo Jedd, malamang hindi naman maintained for long periods of time.Kaya napapagod lang yung makina sa pag-accelerate to that speed.

some vehicles have turbo indicators sa dash, or you could "see" a how fast a turbo is spinning w/ a turbo controller or a turbo timer, pero kahit idle nags-spin pa rin pa rin yung turbo, but at a slow rate
i have to agree with noteworthy regarding sa short streches. 100-120 kph? medyo maiksi nga yun. the way i figure it, you're accelerating and decelerating a bit too hard kaya malakas ang fuel consumption mo. yung dmax, constant na 11km/liter, frommakati to bulacan, kasama ang rush hour traffic dun. but i limit my speed at 80 kph sa highway, 60-70 kph around the metro. im still learning how to drive yung dmax kasi naninibago pa rin ako, dahil mas sanay ako sa kotse. hehehehe.
My L200 has a 4D56 Turbo Intercooled engine, my consumption is around 9-11 km/liter thats with medium traffic everyday, I think it really depends on how hard you push the engine. Best cosumption I got was around 14 km/liter thats from Paranaque to Pangasinan.

oh know..I guess I have been pushing my engine too hard. I'll try my best to follow your example guys - 80kph max on the metro. I hope to experience the 9-14km/lt. soon. hehe (sobrang bagal kasi minsan ng trapiko dito sa aten... )
for some reason, i don't like pushing my engine too much. I usually shift when it hits 3000 rpm or kung nagoovertake, 3500.
i have a 2.5 tdic 4d56, at 3000 rpm in fifth gear, nasa 85 to 90 kmh lang ako and that is usually my limit. does the rpm and speed seem right?

anong ride mo? would you believe, sa dmax, 1500 lang rpm shift na agad ako? pag overtake, 2000 rpm. take advantage ko kasi yung max. torque, kaya matipid ako sa krudo. when cruising normally 80km/h * 2000 rpm lang. again, take advantage ko yung max. torque. bakit? kasi pag lampas ko ng 2000 rpm wala nang torque yun, puro horsepower na lang. saka wala pang maluwag na daan kaya sayang lang kung hindi ko maitutuloy-tuloy ang speed. =>
i have the pajero 2.5 tdic. the turbo of the pajero kicks in at 2000 rpm ata
i checked again kanina, mga 85 to 87 kmh, at 3000 rpm. i think that is where the bigger engine of the dmax has the advantage, same speed, lower rpm. 2.5 lang ang pajero ko vs the 3.0 oc the dmax. not to mention the 7 year difference in age of the engine
Santos, so dagdag pa ng around 12 to 15 grand. maganda nga sya pero di talaga ma stretch ang budget. maybe in two years.

Sir Olive, an intercooler by itself will not increase fuel consumption. It just lowers the intake air temperature.
Of course, pag nag-enjoy ka sa added power ng intercooler equipped engine, lalakas ka talaga sa konsumo.
85-90 on 3k rpm? um, anong size ng tires mo? it may be a reason why mababa.![]()
hmmm...baka kelangan ng tune up? I don't know. PK! What do you say about this?
