August 28th, 2016 03:29 PM #62Relatives always say Caltex is the best Diesel all around but I have been using Petron for many years now for my motorcycles and cars but recently due to our new 2016 Hilux we have been using the Petron Turbodiesel always since 2 relatives said their Turbo was destroyed from using regular diesel. I will be bringing our truck to be brought in for her first maintenance and I will give feedback what the mechanic thinks about Petron Turbodiesel. My 2 cents on the matter though to those who had bad experience with Petron Turbodiesel was your car's engine EURO 4 certified?

August 30th, 2016 11:19 AM #63Around 20k KMs na ako using Petron Turbo diesel, 2 station lang ako nagpapakarga and the same 1-2 fuel pumps para mamonitor ko ang fuel efficiency and if magkaproblems madali ma-trace. Wala naman issues
Analayo ng turbo para masira dahil sa bad fuel, BS reason yun IMO

Suzuki Grand Vitara 2006. Mas matulin kung Shell Unleaded kesa Shell V-Power! Bakit ganun?
I observed the same sa Explorer Ecoboost.

i did try using both before. even did a monthly fuel consumption log/comparison with other diesels like fuel save, dmax and techron with result i posted in mitsu fuel consumption database thread. wala naman masyadong pagkakaiba sa fuel economy at response ng engine except sa mas mahal na presyo per liter. i settled for the cheaper shell fuel save, dmax or caltex techron...

Good job bro on the empirical approach. We have the same results - whether gas or diesel, the premium fuel does not offer better mileage than the regular fuel grade.
Feel, on the other hand, is subjective and highly prone to placebo effect. Noone has ever done a blind test on these fuels, so the very knowledge of what fuel was filled up in your car already clouds your perception of its performance.

All Diesel products from both companies have been refined close to perfection. What sets them apart is the additive package. Placebo or not, premium Diesels would obviously have better additives that prevent fouling, or other nasties from happening if you had straight Diesel. There will be no apparent mileage or power increase using any of the premium Diesels. Instead, your choice would have more to do with how relatively clean or trouble-free your engine will be in the long run.

Are mandatory seatbelts, and minimum brightness standards for exterior lighting also woke elements?
