August 24th, 2010 01:41 AM #21Yeah...for that price I bet it wouldn't really be a GTL derived diesel. So misleading pa rin yung ibang ads..it's not the same V-Power diesel formulation na ginamit nila sa Audi sa Lemans race. If you check it's color and it's clear as a jet kero or a mineral water then...that's a pure GTL diesel. there shouldn't be any smell at all. Well in practical application it shouldnt be really sold as pure diesel coz of economics...too costly to manufacture, baka pangmix lang. By a year or so Qatar will be the biggest supplier of GTL based liquid hydrocarbons..Oryx and Pearl GTL (Shell) is currently building the worlds biggest GTL plant. The one in Malaysia will be dwarfed in terms of capacity of those two plants.

August 24th, 2010 01:51 AM #22too bad i learned of this just today sa station, my CRV improved so much in FC when I loaded Shell Premium vs. Shell unleaded. from average of 7km/liter to 8.3km/liter.
siguro with this new Shell V Power Diesel, yun CRDI unit ko will improve a lot. i'm only average 8km/liter now, sana umabot ng 10km/liter
those figures above are all-city stop and go.

August 25th, 2010 03:44 PM #23Filled up with Shell V-Power Diesel last Sunday, vehicle is an '09 Everest (2.5L variant). Around 56L for Php2,040.xx (Php36.5/L). Used to fill up with Seaoil BioXCeed or Caltex Diesel w/ Techron. Engine seemed a bit "lighter" and a bit more responsive although I'm not discounting the psychological aspect just yet. Have only driven 50+ kms since then so no FC figures yet.
I think I'll continue using V-Power Diesel for the next 2 or 3 fillups just to get a better gauge of the new fuel's "capabilities". With the price rollback a couple of days ago, it's currently at around Php35.3/L which is not a bad price at all, especially compared with Petron's Turbo Diesel fuel.

I trust Shell more than Petron and Caltex. And V-Power, subok na talaga ito kahit nung Shell Velocity pa ang name nito so I think magbenefit talaga ang diesel engines dito.
