First time ko magpapakarga ng V-Power today. Inubos ko lang kase yung kinarga ko last week.
Keeping my fingers crossed!

...in using shell v-power diesel,sa palagay nyo kaya puede na nating i-extend ang interval ng change-oil ng mga sasakyan natin?baka dun man lang mabawi ang additional price nya against regular diesel at ang magiging benefits ng v-power diesel is to help keep maintain the engine clean?

September 9th, 2010 09:46 AM #106Unduly extending your oil change interval is an invitation for a disaster. The main mystery about Shell-V-Power diesel could be its blend with synthetic diesel (Acronym GTL). The V-Power has been available in other countries for some time now, and feedbacks are available in search engines.
Here is an excerpt from WIKI:
"... V-Power Diesel is a blend of regular petroleum-based diesel and synthetic diesel, created using gas to liquids (GTL), along with some extra additives designed to clean the injection system and improve injection pump and injector lubricity.
One characteristic of V-Power diesel is that it is a lot clearer and odourless than normal diesel, mainly due to the synthetic GTL component.
The fuel is slightly less dense than regular diesel so, per volume, the unit energy is actually lower than regular diesel. This is offset, as the fuel tends to ignite more readily (and thus has a higher cetane rating) than regular diesel, and a side benefit of this is that it tends to produce less soot during combustion.
Anecdotal evidence shows that its performance varies depending on how an engine is set up. In most cases, it will make a rough-sounding engine run noticeably smoother, and can also alter the performance characteristics; typically some low-end torque is lost, but performance in the middle of the rev range and above is increased.
In some engines however, particularly well-tuned commonrail turbodiesels, very little effect can be seen or felt..."
ANOTHER fro WIKI:
"...CETANE is the measure of 'ignition delay', the time period between the start of injection and start of combustion (ignition) of diesel fuels.
Generally, diesel engines run well with a CN from 40 to 55. Fuels with higher cetane number which have shorter ignition delays provide more time for the fuel combustion process to be completed.
Hence, higher speed diesels operate more effectively with higher cetane number fuels. There is no performance or emission advantage when the CN is raised past approximately 55; after this point, the fuel's performance hits a plateau..."
High cetane diesels have less combustion noise, relatively cleaner, and maximizes power extraction out of the fuel.

Nalinis na yata injector ko kasi di na rough ang idling. Regular shell diesel ule nilagay ko at ok naman ang idling. Mag out of town ako bukas baka regular diesel lang ikarga ko iinumin lang naman niya balikan.
Ok lang kaya mag switch back and fort from regular to vpower. Ok lang siguro paghaluin yung dalawa?

If you use your Shell-Citibank, and you fill-up with VPower Diesel, you will get a 2% rebate over and above the 5% that you usually get when you fill-up with Shell. Parang ~P1.68/L na lang ang mahal ng VPower Diesel over Regular Diesel.
