pag naubusan ang carburatored engine, ay bumababa ang fuel level sa float bowl. if car has an electric fuel pump, than all you do is turn switch to on for a few seconds, parang EFI..
but if the fuel pump is mechanical, it takes a big amount of cranking for the mechanical fuel pump to put enough fuel back into that float bowl. sometimes, the battery dies before this is accomplished. when the battery dies, your problems are then doubled. it is very hard to push-start a carb'd car that ran out of fuel, because there is no fuel in the carb, and because its (often) electromechanical ignition system needs a fair amount of current to work, unlike today's EFI.
what many of us used to do then, back when not all vehicles had a working fuel gauge (owner jeeps!), is to remove the air cleaner and drop some fuel directly into the carb's throat and also into that brass tube at its center.. isang kutsara.. isang tansan.. say a silent prayer and crank 'er up.
some would use their palm over the throat inlet, to achieve a stronger vacuum to pull fuel in, but i find this frightening.

the fuel pump is cooled and lubricated by the gasoline liquid, without it, bye-bye fuel pump...

Kung walang spare tire, invest on a Inflator kaysa sa sealant. Inflate the flat tire +10 psi than...
