Avanza G A/T 1.5L: Trip from San Fernando to Baguio with 2 hours bumper-to-bumper traffic in Baguio City proper in 3 instances, via the alternate route (Concepcion thru Victoria - Guimba - Cuyapo to Binalonan) and Marcos Highway, we visited Mines View twice, Strawberry Farms (La Trinidad), Lourdes Grotto, Burnham Park, and about 10% additional Pampanga city-driving for 3 days before filling up the tank again:
10.4km/liter.
Not bad, considering the fact that I kept racing other cars on the alternate route, and the climb and descent along Marcos Highway plus the hilly terrain of Baguio City required lots of revving while having to carry 2 adults and 3 kids and luggage.
ah ok po, gets ko na :-) so kung max ako na 2k rpm malimit, 40-60kph speed, posible na pwede pa ako makatipid ng gas kung slower ang pagtapak ko sa gas pedal (tipid mode) kahit a/t, instead of quick tapak? :-)
bossing, heres d explanation about my corollas "unbelievable" fuel consumption.. my ex-ride was a '94 Toyota Corolla XE/1300CC engine displacement/manual trans/185/65/R14 tires/carburator type.... hiway driving b4 was 11km/ltr.. then i installed Khaos Super Turbocharger..b4 installation, engine's idle rpm was at 750..then after slapping on the gas saver device, engine's idle rpm climbed up to 1750 ( without any fuel adjustment done on the carb).... engine b4 runs *750rpm but when near ideal AFR was reached(after installing d device) , rpm became 1750 , with the same fuel feed amt...and ofcourse, 1750rpm at idle is improper, so the technician now regulated the fuel feed with the carb until rpm returned to ideal idle of 750..dun plang is nakatipid na..plus pa na slow driver po me running at 60kph..FC test: i full tanked and noted my odometer reading,,and after a 25km hiway drive, i full tanked again and 1.05 ltr lang full na.it meant yun lang ang na consume nya..so 25km divide by 1.05 ltr, FC=23.8 km/ltr on hiway..and at first d rin me makapaniwala, so i repeated d process for 3 times with 2 person load and 60kph max cruising speed w/ aircon on..and still i got the same result ranging from 22-24km/ltr.. and tama po si sir "bughaw787" about sa explanation nya abt light footed..i usually cruise at low revs..and shifts gear up at around 1800-2000rpm..and steps on gas slowly..kung fuel efficiency po ang paguusapan and practical driving ang objective natin, malaki tlaga ang maitutulong ng inyong right foot, on how it behaves..but if u dont care saving gas evrytime u drive (and as long na galante ka sa gas,and u have lots of fuel bucks) , then , step on it till u ran out of the road..have a nice and safe travel..God Bless.![]()

Bro,
The khaos does not have any effect on FC, see the thread on khaos, medyo lengthy ang discussion doon. Its most probably because of your approach to driving. I too pass by the southern national highway from Leon (my residence is in the town proper) to our office here in Iloilo City and I get around 14 to 15 kms to the liter (60 kph max speed - Zuk Vitara).
BTW, I drive daily averaging around 80 kms balikan and I do keep records sa PC basing on odometer reading and fuel loaded for the past year and so kaya I believe medyo accurate din ang results. Try mo bro full tank then use the car for a week using your driving approach, setting the trip meter reading to zero prior to launching, then fill it up again after a week, then divide the total reading sa trip meter mo by the total fuel needed to fill up the tank, mas accurate ito bro. I suggest that you also remove the khaos charger sa kotse mo, mas detrimental in the long run ito.

imho - adjust your driving depending on location especially on expressways - these roads indicate minimum speed limits (lowest i've seen is 60kph - when there is no construction) and driving below them might not be safe - especially at night.
Being conscious of our FC is good but not at the expense of safety.![]()
bro,, gd day..tnx 4 d reaction and advice..yup, nasubukan me na rin yung ganung process.i full tanked and reset the trip meter and used my car evryday till the fuel gauge pointed at warning line..then, i headed to gas station and filled it up...yes, i divided the total trip meter reading to the number of liters of gas that filled my tank..result was 15-16km/ltr.. but ,that was mixed use..that includes highway driving, ct driving, idle for certain periods kasama na yung atras sa garahe and mga parking lots sa mall..yes, that was also accurate regarding the everage FC..pero, yung knwento me abt sa FC me in hiway drive from guimbal town to molo ct, i really tried it several times and i got constant results of 22-24km/ltr..ewan me, kahit nga me din hindi makapaniwala..nirecommend lang kc skin ng ofice mate me yung khaos kc effective nga daw gas saver..kaya i tried..hindi me na rin pwede kunin khaos sa car kc binenta me na yung car eh..hehe..i swapped it with a double cab pick up..mas mataas ground clearance, mas mapakinabangan kc sa bukid..hehe..pwede pa pantawid ilog..mas mura pa fuel nya..reaction nga ng new owner ng ex-car ko, matipid nga daw compared sa other 1300CC cars na nahawakan nya, kc nag ba buy and sell sya ng cars.. cge, bro, tnx again 4 the advce and reaction...God Bless..![]()
it's been proven that khaos does not affect the FC of any car as previously stated. i actually had mine uninstalled just recently because of the fouling of my exhaust. comparing the FC and engine response before and after installation, i did not notice any change at all.
sayang you had to get rid of a very fuel efficient vehicle. daig pa nya ang mga bagong economy cars pag dating sa gas consumption.

Wow very good mileage for the Civic kaso puro highway eh so thats to be expected, I can only dream of having my Civic run that high of a efficiency given my rush hour route![]()
97 hilander 8-9 city, 13-13.5 hiway change to bigger 225 70 14 tires
or from 26 in to 27.5 in diamtr.
02 xwind AT, 7kml city, 9-11 hiway
05 l300 fb 8-8.5 city, hiway 12-12.5 hiway
2nd hand 01 starex tci AT, 5-6kml!!! 8kml hiway!!! parang nasa desert inuuhaw...
na try ko starex without aircon hiway umabot ng 12kml, parang unbelieveable, dapat cguro mga 10kml lang kng wala ac.
8kml (w/ ac) to 10kml (w/o ac) is 20% diff
but 8kml to 12kml is 33% diffrence,
parang sobrang bigat cguro ng compressor i rotate
is it the ac compressor mahirap i rotate?
pwede kaya i change ang power steering pump, ac compressor and alternator to a slightly less powerfull ones para hinde mabigat sa engine?
Went to Subic via NLEX + SCTEx. Filled up tank before the trip, and filled it up again after.
Got 12km/liter. Avanza 1.5 G A/T.
Passengers: 5 adults with an average weight of 120lbs, and 3 kids aged 12, 9.5, and 8yo, Cargo, swimming attire, lots of floaters/swimvests, plus more than enough food and drinks for the 8 of us. Full tank has 45liters capacity.
Minimum sustained speed: 100kph. Maximum: 145kph. Average sustained: 110kph at 3,250rpm. Total distance travelled was 201kms.
Probably would've gotten a teeny little bit more efficiency had it not been for the one-lane traffic caused by the roadworks in Tipo. On the way back, I had to endure 10minutes of < 5kph uphill climbing due to 2 crawling trucks full of cargo. Sana naman sa ganoong situation, hayaan na nilang mag-overtake ang mga sasakyan!
pwde makisali di ko lang po alam if someone gonna belive me...
19 km/L
civic vti 99 a/t all-stock except air filter (simota) a mags and tires 16"
route was from megamall to batangas
all traffic conditions experienced during that drive
(65% highway, 20% low speed, 15% stop and go traffic)
how achieved?
-never exceeded 2000 rpm
btw fuel used was shell unleaded
2 lang kami sa car no luggage
tire pressure was 30psi on all tires
stereo was on all the time
