Binibigyan ng weight yung prediction ni Murti...

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/business/7387203.stm

The price of crude oil could soar to $200 a barrel in as little as six months, as supply continues to struggle to meet demand, a report has warned.

With benchmark US light crude passing the $122 mark for the first time on Tuesday, the warning comes from Goldman Sachs energy strategist Argun Murti.

Surging demand was increasingly likely to create a "super-spike" past $200 in six months to two years' time, he said.

Oil prices have now risen 25% in the last four months and by 400% from 2001.

Mr Murti correctly predicted three years ago - when oil was about $55 a barrel - that it would pass $100, which it reached for the first time in January of this year.

kung gagastos ka ng say 10-15k a month for fuel expenses, consider buying a condo na lang tapos ihulog mo dun. mag-appreciate pa value ng pera mo or at least, magmaintain value kaysa itapon sa fuel expenses.

kung walang naman mga PUVs, ok sana ang FC natin kahit P50/liter. sana lang para tayo Los Angeles of the 90's, it takes 20 minutes or less anywhere

pero hangga't andyan sila and they still continue to defy nature by wasting precious time and space and productivity sa kalsada and dragging us all with them. it's time to rethink strategies.

there is a reason why oil prices are getting high. nature is testing us. matira matibay and I'm sure and I'm hoping ma-lessen ang PUVs sa kalsada and not the other way around, na mga motorista mag-commute.

hindi naman sinasabi sa'tin na abusado na tayo kasi tig-i-tig-isa ng tsikot tayo. it's ok to own 1-2 kasi pinaghirapan naman natin mabili ito, so we acquired it according to nature's laws. and nature has been kind to developed nations na may halos 1:1 ownership ng car, kaya nga blessed sila eh.

ang dapat lang talaga, we just have to be efficient. wala dapat nasasayang or sinasadya na sinasayang.

    ====

Madiskarte at kaya natin iyan!!!

It is funny because I was with my friends last night having dinner and the topic came to the fuel prices... My friend who thinks he is knowledgeable said prices of a barrel of oil is now $130+ and I said ours is like 150+... We do not have cars running by LPG here so I brought up the topic and they were amazed, at least naging bida for about a minute, hehehe...

Dun sa 10k for gas and dapat ihulog nalang for a condo comment, okay po sana un kung ala ka expense sa pag commute. 10k for gas pero nakakarating ka naman sa pupuntahan mo db? i do not know kung magkano gastos sa pagcommute pero tingin ko mahal din. If you are spending 10k for gas, how much do you spend for rides? and yung time db mas matagal kung magdyip?sana kung mrt ka lagi back and forth un tingin ko malaki savings mo talaga kaso dapat ready ka nga lang sa siksikan.

"Telecommuting". Actually this is a possible solution for some people depending on their type of work. Unfortunately certain things do require physical presence in the office. Usually telecommuting works well in the IT industry.

Yeah right OB, save money by buying an expensive condo unit where you work. Just like you can save money on replacing one fuel guzzling CRV by buying TWO new SUVs.

we just have to weather this and bababa rin or at least mag stable rin ang price ng oil...kung nakaya natin yun Asian crisis eh kaya rin natin itong oil price increase...and malapit na ang election sa US, I think the Presidential Election ng US malaki magiging effect sa Dollars hence oil price....

Filipinos are born resilient, we will learn to adjust...

actually if you really think about it, hinde lang naman ngayon nangyari ito, eh how much does fuel cost back in the '90s? compared it with the price now...

diba malaki rin ang tinaas and yet if we look at it, dapat wala ng kotse now, kasi from P20+/liter, na double yun price today which is P49+/liter....pero hinde nabawasan yun mg kotse in fact this past few years yata ang pinakamataas na sales ng auto industries...so ganun din lang mangyayari sa atin...

I don't believe the US Election has anything to do with the world oil prices. It is a matter of supply and demand. If the US elects a new President with a good energy policy, it will be the US, first and foremost, who will reap the benefits before anyone else.

You have to factor in the hundreds of thousand of Pinoy OFW and migrants who moved outside of the country to earn a bigger pay. Those people who are considered marginalized while in the Philippines (and now Dollar/Euro earners), are now capable of buying their love ones back home a car of their dreams. That is the reason why you see an increasing number of cars starting from three decades back or so.
