question, pano nasisira yun gasket?
last sunday kase on our way upto tagaytay biglang nagoverheat yun Spacegear. 4D56 ata makina nya. The aircon suddenly got hot and temp guage went balistic - taas agad yun needle. namatay yun engine. naubos yun liquid sa reservoir ng coolant. so we let the engine cool off then we tried refilling it with water pero napupunta sa turbo or whatever it is yun tubig - parang nagleleak sya. ayaw na magstart. we had it towed by a jeep na lang sa bahay. then when i finally got a mechanic to look at it, initial prognosis is sira daw gasket. and when we got it to the shop and he opened the engine (cam ba yun?) worn out yun gasket. so i bought and orig part from mitsu aside from the other parts like gasket seal, half moon, shellant etc. pinarepahse din ata yun cylinder head. im no expert sa makina pero mukhang tama ginawa ng mekaniko naman noh?
im just a bit puzzled kung talaga bang nawoworn out yun gasket or maybe something else caused it to be worn out. what do you think?

Some gaskets were made to suffer a slight overheat and get easily damaged. That's norm for different types of gasket brands, while other will last a couple of more overheats until oil sips thru it.
The question should be what caused your engine to overheat? A simple climb up to Tagaytay shouldn't do any harm to your engine.
