I read the PDI Motoring section this morning and its about FABULOUS Khaos Super Turbo Charger.
quoted from PDI today June 1 by tessa salazar:
"If the results were true, Rufi said he would still be wary of Khaos' possible "side effects". "The draw back is if you have extra air in the combustion chamber, you will have NOx(nitrous oxide) because the excess air or oxygen will not be able to react (with fuel) anymore. (The excess air that comes out) will react with hydrogen to form NOx. "That is a pollutant" said Rufo.
In a phone interview on Monday, senior environtal management specialist engineer Arturo Bongco said that DENR is not endorsing Khaos but added that "it is just one test and still inconclusive."
According to the article, they didn't use any dynamometer for testing because it was not available instead the group settled for a road test with a set 100-km route around UP campus.
this really made me laugh:
"In mythodology, Khaos was the name of the goddess of wind or air. Why is it called super turbo charger? It is strictly a preference of Planas for purely marketing reason but there is NOTHING about the device that has to do with turbo charger"
VERY MISLEADING!!!!!! tsk tsk tsk

i've read the whole article na from the inquirer newspaper. tama nga, very misleading talaga si planas..and still the results of their experiment are inconclusive. and accdg to professor qiuros, redundant daw kung lalagyan ng khaos ang EFI engines, since the ECU computes for the optimal air:gas ratio everytime..pero they cant conclude on carb engines yet. also, yung test na ginawa nila is not that reliable (less than a 100% for sure) since they didnt consider the other factors in getting the right mileage. very specific test ang ginawa nila in other terms. so i think we should really wait for their updated test.
