    I picked up these arguements from a British program. Wonder if it these cliches holds true in the Philippines.

    Arguement 1: diesels are cheaper to run
    Arguement 2: there's a tax advantage to diesels
    Arguement 3: diesels depreciate less quickly
    Arguement 4: diesels are slow and boring to drive

    Case to case basis pa din iyan:
    1. Yes, it is cheaper to run (compared to our V6 Montero).
    2. No. Pareho lang halos ang SRP ng Montero V6 at local GEN II
    3. Yes. Lalo na yung mga Benzes
    4. Depends on how you drive.

    Arguement 4: diesels are slow and boring to drive
    the diesel BMW X5 and the 330d ain't slow... same with the newer batches of CRDi engines... loads of torque and accessible at low - mid rev ranges.

    Diesel engines are slower than Petrol. But gives very good fuel economy, Diesel fuel are cheaper gas. Diesel is good for towing because of its torque. but not known for its quickness. If diesel is were that fast. it would have been entered in various races.

    and if i recall correctly, a DDi mitsubishi carisma entered a 24h nurburgring race, along with a gas carisma GT, and both placed nicely. the diesel carisma placed lower than the gas one, pero still respectable.
