Just been to GreenFuel, OMG ang hirap palang hanapin kahit taga San Juan/Mandaluyong na ko nahirapan pa ko

Pero sulit naman, ang dami palang customer, there were 2 Expedition, Gray Fortuner, and a red Innova and then may mga nakapila pa sa labas ng bay area mostly CRV.

I think I did include that warning that the place is really hard to find.

May issue ba kung ang torroid tank ay naka install sa ilalim kung saan nilalagay ang spare tire?

No issues there. That's precisely what it's designed for, to take the place of the spare tire.

Nabanggit rin lang sa akin ng Denso that there are 2 types of donut/toroidal tanks. One for in-cabin/in-trunk installation where the gauges are on top of the tank, and another for under-chassis installation where the gauges are at the bottom. I guess you just need to select the correct one for your needs.

Mas mabigat yung sa outer, I tried lifting the 55 Liter torroidal tank for Fortuner/Innova, it is more heavier than the 60 Liters cylindrical tank.

Torroidal tank for outer is much more ticker.

The valves are inside the donut ring, once fitted with cover you'll see nothing but the tank and two hoses.

Just to make things clear. There are two types of conversions for efi engines currently.

One is the emulator/venturi system that uses a mixer where lpg passes through. This system is a single point delivery system. Basically this turns your efi engine to run as if it were a carburetor engine vehicle through an emulator. In this type of system there are two variants the open loop and the close loop. The difference is the closed loop is hooked to your oxygen sensor and the open loop is not. An oxygen sensor is basically a sensor that measures the oxygen content of your emission. This is basically to determine if you burn the lpg or your petrol properly. You do not need to have an oxygen sensor installed in your vehicle to determine this you can actually go to an emmission center to do this.

The second one is the sequential gas injection. This is by far the purest form of gas injection currently available. This is a multi-point system directly injected into your intake manifold. Auto-lpg is directly injected into your vehicle and that it is driven by an ecu. The amounts of lpg injected is precise unlike the mixer system. Also the timing of the opening of the injectors are calibrated to the timing of your petrol injectors. Also the opening size of the injectors are suited to the needs of the engine. Unlike an emulator system, the sgi system also can be calibrated to suit the drivers need for power on higher rpm's

Hope this clears everything. Have a nice day

    1. Do you have choking issues during initial acceleration? According to one installer, I might experience this since there is no heater outlet to the CRV and they will just get from the radiator hose and sometimes it might not be circulating the hot water during idle to cause a small hiccup during standing start acceleration.
    2. Is it ok to mount the injectors below the plastic cowl? According to one installer, they will install it under the "i-Vtec" cowl for aesthetics but another installer warns against this since it might overheat the injectors. So who's right?
    3. Does the CRV have plastic or metal intake manifolds? One says it's plastic and another say it's metal.

Please comment on any other issues that may have been encountered with these installers: Greenfuel, Green Autogas and Xoom.

    Thank you and God bless!
I had mine done by Greenfuel just two weeks ago. Yes, Mike did tell me how there's a slight jerk when you accelerate from a standstill. I find it doesn't bother me too much. It might be a problem when you're in bumper to bumper traffic and you're trying to tailgate the vehicle in front of you so that other cars won't get a chance to overtake. What I sometimes do is just press the button that switches you from LPG to gasoline.

Mike did advise me against installing the rail under the engine cover. I'm not really sure if there's an overheating issue but I decided it may not be worth the risk. Besides the way they install it above the iVtec logo doesn't look too bad really.

I was told the intake manifold is plastic. Does it matter?

Mike's hands-on, personal service made me a satisfied customer. Better hurry before their customers increase more than Mike can handle.

With plastic intake manifold you can only use SGI kits. Venturi or open type has risk of backfire that can damage your intake manifold. No risk with SGI.

This is another point that some installers seem to ignore or try to hide from the customers. I hope people read this as this is a very important consideration when choosing the best lpg system for their vehicle.

a question for mike...would this jerking problem be the same for an 04 camry??

am seriuously considering converting my camry to lpg already...actually, was considering selling it...but with the current market prices..i figured might as well keep it as a third car...but convert it to lpg...

i inquired with greenfuel yesterday about the conversion...still kinda expensive ha...39k... is there any discount available for tsikot members? i hope so naman...

    thanks

manual adjustment lang po talaga kapag carb type. Kung gusto mo ng medyo mabusisi na adjustments, sa emmission testing center mo ipagawa ang tuning, para makita agad ang results from the exhaust.

    Hi! BigMike!

M not sure if this is OT but do you have a toroidal tank for a 2005 Hyundai Getz A/T? Wud appreciate a PM quotation for the SGI installation on that car. It's the last of my cars that will go LPG, would like you to install this one!

    regards,

    Steve

    Hi!

Someone asked recently whether any LPG cars were available directly from the manufacturers with full warranty.....

here are three currently on the market meeting those parameters:

    1. Roush F-150 Hot Pickup!

    http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/...re+page-7.html

    2. Honda Civic runs of CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) we have this fuel here!

    http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/...re+page-3.html

    3. I couldn't find a website for the Toyota Avanza LPI sold by Toyota Alabang with full warranty, but I'm sure somebody has that in this thread!

With Gasoline and Diesel Prices forecast to go up another 7 pesos/liter after last months recovery is completed, we are looking at P70 per liter within the next month!

I hope you are all proud of your foresight and wisdom in converting to greener Propane fuel, though we seem to have paid a small premium for being ahead of the crowd! The kits are getting cheaper!

    regards,

    steve

The jerking problem is only limited to the Honda CRV 2nd gen.

I was told that it did happen due to the lack of heater outlet and does not affect all Gen2 CRVs. But then again I heard different from other installers ...

I talked to Green Autogas and according to them they don't have this problem of jerking for the 2nd Gen since they install the injectors on the metal portion of the intake manifold closer to the combustion chamber unlike the installation of Greenfuel that is further down on the ABS portion of the manifold. This might cause the "delay" in acceleration. It does make logical sense, right?

    Hi Mike,

I was the one who texted you this afternoon and waited for your text for me to call you. I guess you were really busy installing the kits, which I understand and is actually good since I know that youre hands on in handling the installations.

I was able to talk to Lorna(?) but I have some questions that she can't answer thats why I wanted to talk to you.

    1. Were you able to install an SGI kit in a corolla altis (vvti)? No problems afterwards?
    2. I heard that there are problems concerning burned valves (?) Is this issue easily solved thru the petrol spraying in the SGI kit? Can we program the ECU in such a way that petrol spraying will be more frequent?
    3. How much total cost for a donut tank SGI kit in an altis and how soon can we schedule the installation?

I was finally able to convince my dad. In case everything turns out good in my altis, we will include another car same model...Sabi niya to see is to believe...I want to show him the wonders of LPG.

I would appreciate it if you can text me thru 09178030756 whenever youre free, Ill be the one to call.

    Thanks.
