    recently i just had a really scary situation ....... first i started noticing my fuel mileage went down a bit .... it was usually 7km/liter .... then this past month it started going down below 7 ...... i didn't notice anything out of the ordinary .... i thought it was perhaps due to the fact my scheduled engine oil/transmission oil change was up already ...... one day i ended up with almost an empty tank when i got home ... but the engine was still not "choking" (previous experience was pag malapit na talga empty mag c choke muna 2k rpm ) .....

    the next day when i went out pag switch to lpg ayaw na .... as in parang empty na .... taka taka ako since i thought there'd still be a little bit left ..... anyway it was a sunday and off to the refilling station i went ..... buti na lang at habit kong buksan ang trunk to look at the guage .... habang nag fill up napansin ko nag c cloud ata mamaya konti shetttt ang lakas ng singaw .... nag d drip na liquid to my trunk's carpet !!!!! OMFG !!!! pinahinto ko agad filling ..... nde ko alam gagawin ko !!!! it took as a few minutes to figure out what to do as i didn't know pwede mo pala isara yung galing sa tanke .... there is a valve you can close by hand ( YOU SHOULD CHECK THAT IT IS NOT TOO TIGHT PARA ANYTIME PWEDE MO AGAD ISARA ... I THINK THIS IS NOT MEANT TO CLOSED OR OPENED TIGHTLY USING A TOOL LIKE PLIERS )

    sunday pa naman so walang mag aayos .... it scared the **** out of me .... me mga 20 liters na nakarga na ....i think mga 1+ liter siguro sumingaw at nag drip onto the carpet.

    it turns out to be a loose fitting behind the electrical blue thingy solenoid ba yun ? it opens/shuts the line going to the engine i think ...... siguro over time it caused the fitting to loosen since it's a mechanical movement that may cause vibrations. anyway problem solved.

    My fuel mileage went way up again ..... i think i may actually get above 7km/liter .....

    Good to hear everything turned out alright tediber.

    I also had a scary incident recently. Bumababa na rin yung consumption ko so I had it tuned. Nag-loko na yata yung adjustment knob nung vaporizer, so the diaphragm had a hiccup. After driving about 6kms after the tuning, I was starting to lose power, and I had to pump the pedal to regain power (few seconds delay). Then after about a few hundred meters more... BOOM! All went dead. Had to restart and continue home using gasoline.

    Nag-backfire pala, and it resonated to the air filter canister. It turns out the diaphragm stopped working for awhile, so the vaporizer was unable to supply the needed LPG fuel. Nung sobrang lean na nung mix, ayun -- backfire na nga.

    Had the vaporizer replaced this morning. I'm still having some rough idling during full stops and while in gear. Baka konting fine tuning pa rin.

    I have been driving my car converted to running on auto-LPG since Aug 2006. The auto-LPG kit type I am using is an open-loop mixer type kit with EFI emulator. It is roughly the same kit used by most lpg fueled taxi cabs in the metro.

    I have generally no problems related to it except I have to keep my engine's air intake filter clean more often than otherwise. I have NEVER experienced LPG leaks into the passenger cabin. I only experience one LPG leak but that was contained by the guage seal. The leak was quickly fixed by the LPG installers by tightening the bolts that held the metal pipes to the tank in the trunk.

    My car has been driven out of town as far as to Baguio (from Metro Manila) and back running on LPG. I enjoyed driving around Clark & Subic during a long week-end while fueled by LPG the entire time. I have driven up to a speed of 165kph on the Star Tollway while fueled by LPG which is not bad since my top speed achieved with gasoline is also 165kph. I have kept my car maintenance schedule just the same as when the car was still running on gasoline although I could have extended oil change schedule due to the fact that LPG keeps the motor oil cleaner longer than gasoline.

    The only downside I have experienced with auto-LPG is the decreased space in my trunk which is not really bad since I still have enough space for a week or two worth of groceries or for a medium sized luggage.

    And for those who might say an auto-LPG car might explode if someone crashes from the rear of the vehicle, the auto-LPG fuel tank is much more stronger than the factory gasoline tank is most cars. In the worst case scenario, the LPG tank would just deform but still keep it's contents. A standard gasoline tank would have long ruptured and poured out it's contents on the surrounding area.

    So for those who are still deciding, maybe it is already high time to get serious about converting to auto-LPG to help you start saving on the cost of your vehicle's fuel. 40% savings on the cost of fuel is not something you can ignore, right?
    good day!

    this is a very informative material regarding lpg conversion. anyway, is there a way the lpg conversion people can email me reading materials or pictures of how the lpg tanks were installed on some of the cars they worked on.

    im currently driving a 97 rav 4 na dubai version. i'm averaging 4-5km/ltr city driving despite regular maintenance and tuneups. my worry lang is that the rav does not have a trunk and if ever i will convert to lpg, the tank will be exposed to the passengers. are there tanks that can be installed somewhere underneath the car so as to keep the space at the back?

    appreciate it if you can email me romanmontemayor*yahoo.com

    thanks

    Here's mine done at GreenFuel http://www.greenfuel.com.ph

    Very happy with the conversion and ROI came at about 10 months. My LPG kit is now over a year old.

    Clarified with Bigfootoz a few days ago. Only the filter will stop the contaminants from getting into the injectors.

    There is another filter that can be installed but not generally used. Actually it is a separator, similar to the type used on air compressors to separate the water and oil from the compressed air.

    dito din nag leak yung lpg ko, sa solenoid na nakakabit sa tanke. teflon lang ang solution and until now no signs of leak ( basehan ko ang ilong ko hehe)

    mukang ang talagang common problem natin ay idling. so far after nung last punta ko sa greenfuel nung pinalitan yung vaporizer ko wala na akong naging major na problema. yung idling lang talaga pero hinde naman ako namamatayan.

    so far so good wala naman ako na encounter ibang problem .... pansin ko nga lang yung solenoid umiinit .... medyo mainit nakakapasong init .... normal lang ba yun ?

    Hmmm I found this on STARGAS' website... diesel-lpg conversion.

    http://stargasphil.com/stargas/diesel.htm

    The D-GAS (Diesel Gas Auto System) has been designed and developed by D-Gas Pty Ltd. The system has been designed to reduce diesel exhaust emissions on turbo charged and naturally aspirated diesel engines by improving the diesel combustion making the engine more efficient and lowering exhaust emissions.

    Added advantages:

    Smoother and Quieter Engine;
    Increase in Performance;
    Increase in Engine Torque;
    Decrease in Diesel consumption;
    Reduced Carbon build up in the Engine and Exhaust system
    which in turn reduces carbon in the engine oil;
    Lower engine oil temperature;
    May increase Engine Life.
