Ok mike, i will drop by to your shop soon, so far the leak is fixed (DIYed), ipapa check ko yung lpg settings ko coz of the following observations:

1.0 on highway * 90kph, once i back off the accelerator i notice a slight jerk.
2.0 slow acceleration from 0-30, once get pass 30> ok naman.
3.0 the car almost stall when i switch off the AC whenever i park the car. This happens only when the AC is switch off. pag idling at traffic ok naman basta ON ang AC.

tanong ko lang sa mga experts bakit lately, pansin ko na hard starting na ako every morning. whats weird pa is a day after my tune up nagpalit lang ako spark plug, air filter was bought 3 months ago) mas lalo pa siyang hirap mag start. it took me almost 30 minutes just to get it starting. and pansin ko rin na tumaas FC ko. from 8-9km/L to 7.5.

any suggestions are very much welcome.

It would help if you would give us a background on your car, lpg kit type installed and by which lpg company. You can also mention what kind of air filter you used, both the old and new.

Or you can post your info at the following thread: (Auto-LPG Roll-Call thread)

same with mine... but not that hard starting.. mga 3 tries... pero minsan 1 try lang... plus when I switch to Gas parang nag pipigil... both mine and my brothers Spacewagon...

BTW dinala ko na sa Eroom... sira daw Tranny ko... My question is baket sa LPG ok naman? Sabi kasi daw mas mabilis masunog yung LPG... (I doubt kung sa Trany yun)

Good day! What type of LPG conversion kit was installed on your vehicle? would it be Carb or SGI? For Carb kit installations most of the time it is the tune-up of the car that affects its performance. You could ask your installer to retune your vehicle. If you just want a second opinion we would be glad to help you out.

    Cheers!

Well, depends if you are using aftermarket filters or stock or replacement filter. Also what kind of aftermarket filters including paper, cotton, mesh, foam, etc.

This is especially critical on venturi Auto-LPG systems which are particularly sensitive to the quality of the filtering element.

Probably you have a bad spark plug. If what you bought was NGK spark plug then be cautious as there are many fakes proliferating in some auto parts. Try to know the correct OEM spark plugs for your car and have the Denso equivalent to be sure you don't get fake ones or buy it from casa though it may cost a little more but you can be sure of the quality.

Ok, mine is venturi type and im using replacement filter since original cost almost 1K. what do you recommend? get the OEM and do frequent cleaning like once a month? how do you do it in your car with similar system? TIA.

Well, in my car I already have replaced the stock intake with a cone and tube setup many years ago (when I went turbo on the Corolla). I just buy cheap cone intakes (those costing around P500 to P700 each) and air wash or soap&water wash a few times before replacing them.

I did try a foam based filter (mushroom type), didn't go well. Too much restriction to be worth it.

If I still had the option though, I would just buy cheap replacement paper filters (the type which costs a few hundred pesos only), "air wash" them a few times and then replace them if it isn't effective anymore.

Thanks GH for the inputs. at the moment im using the non-OEM filters since it is too expensive and i cannot find a washable cone type that will fit inside my car intake box. hanap pa ako ng ibang alternative to make it more effective in terms of cleaning and cost. Thanks.

Most washable cones will not fit inside a car's intake box. The usual way is to remove the box.

sir, if you have another chance, please take pictures of the APV under-chassis conversion. Bihira kasi, and I know of some APV owners who are looking for these types of conversion. They have pictures of conversions done abroad pa (Indonesia yata).

ic, thanks. will you recommend a drop in aftermarket washable filter like K&N? im just thinking since we need to do maintenance on the air filter on a periodic basis, getting this types of filter will be expensive at first but in the long run will still be cost effective. anu sa tingin niyo?

Visit Blade auto accessories in malls (in Makati there's one in Greenbelt) and you'll find wide array of cone type washable air filter, tubing and fittings and see which one would fit in your engine bay.

I got one that fits inside my Innova air filter box, mesh cone type and soap washable for just P500.

It's not easy to clean and maintain K&N filters IMO, besides it cost P4K to P5K++ pesos.
