If you do break-even in a year, it is worth the price of the SGI kit.

anyway, thanks for the info...will think about it first...btw...the SGI is that the italian made already or it that the korean made....whats the diff between the italian brand and the korean brand? based on my canvas...the italian brand is double the price of the korean brand....
There are italian and korean made SGI kits. As for the actual pricing, you will have to do your own foot work.

I just wanted to post... I drove my Corolla to Baguio and back over the weekend. I had both my LPG and gasoline fuel tanks filled. When I got back to Manila, my odometer was reading over 650 kilometers. I did over 400km on LPG (started with 83% tank capacity) and the rest on gasoline (gasoline gauge was reading a touch over half remaining). The LPG tank wasn't dry-empty but the meter was reading zero for over 15 minutes before I switched over to gasoline.

While in Baguio, I was running on gasoline because the thinner air resulted in one very under powered Corolla which was able to so slowly around but it was inefficient on the fuel used.

The portion of the trip to baguio was mainly done in rain but I was still able to maintain a speed of between 100 to 125 kph along the expressway. If I maintained a lower speed (like 90kph) all the way, I might have achieved better fuel millage but I was trying to cut the travel time. Manila to Baguio in five hours. Baguio to Manila in four hours.

naexperience ko to when checking the lpg gauges na nakalagay sa dash ng naiadss kit. meron kami units ng taxi na hindi sya accurate reading. meron din nagpagawa kasi nagstall yung taxi nya thinking may laman pa kasi sa gauge meron pa tapos wala na din pala. so i guess d kami alone on this. i guess even private cars experience this as well?

it's no big deal naman though. check na lang gauge sa likod i guess.

share ko lang din. sabi samin ng macro they did consumption tests and that on their 1 full tank, it reached 550+kms. sa taxi, normal samin making more than 450+kms tapos d pa fully-emptied yung tank.

share ulet: given na 1full tank would be something like 1.4k then 23petot/liter... tapos 450kms flat kunwari.. that's something like 7.39kms/liter of lpg. para lang dun sa curious regarding consumption.

Consumption should roughly be the same as gasoline, especially if you would get the SGI LPG kit for an Expedition. Personally, I haven't seen an XP refilling with LPG but I have seen a Ford F150 with a LPG kit installed in one of the past car shows (LPG tank in the flatbed hidden in a big "toolbox").

For Expedition conversions, where do they put the LPG tank? How many liters capacity whould that be, because an Exp tank is more than a hundred liters, right? One should put it an approximate capacity so as not to severely affect the vehicle range.

The biggest single auto-LPG tank I have seen is 60 liters. If you are going to use the standard tank, typical installation would be at the rear storage area.

Some auto_lpg pictures available on the web shows some vehicles having two tanks linked together to provide bigger capacity.

If you are really serious about converting to LPG, best to contact the LPG kit installers and ask what options they can offer you and your XP.

I really could have done more with my tank of LPG. First, I started with 83% tank capacity (previous out of town trips had the tank gauge reading over 90%). Next, I have traveling faster on the NLEX than it was good for economy. I was around 125kph, economy driving would have pegged me at 90kph. Then I was accelerating hard to overtake some of the slower vehicles on the way on the rest of the way to and from Baguio. And then considering the climb up via Marcos Highway.

I just filled my tank yesterday (warning beeps for the last 20km) and it only filled to 44L of LPG before the pump cut off.
