    Car: 2004 mitsubishi outlander

    Observations
    1. Check engine lighted
    2. after 30 minutes, medyo hirap umabante, kahit nakaflooring na yung gas pedal mabagal acceleration.
    3. LPG fuel gauge nagloloko.

Will have it checked this coming monday afternoon.

Hmmmm. This may be worth checking. Baka nga pag walang gasoline na nase-sense eh umiilaw yung CEL. That being said, paano nga pala yung fuel pump? Di kaya masisira yun kung walang fuel na hinihigop??

For those who have luxury vehicles but contemplating on converting to LPG, check this site http://www.arunautogas.co.uk/autogas_lpg_conversion.htm

Like Niky posted, nothing new from what is already available locally. The main difference is the examples are just euro cars which is kinda the norm if you live in the UK and the rest of europe.

One of the reasons why we dont see as much luxury cars being converted to auto-LPG is that their owners aren't as hard hit by the fuel price increase as people who generally own non-luxury cars. You can see this from the number of full sized SUVs (expeditions, hummers, suburban, etc) which are still gasoline fed still on the road.

Grabe, you reach your destination with your engine barely reaching ideal temperatures. You're probably running rich most of the time.

With this small travel route, how did you justify your LPG conversion sir?

On the contrary one of the first of private consumers that converted their cars to LPG were owners of Explorers, Expeditions, E-150's and the likes. I think though they seem to have the dough to cash out on these gas guzzlers, their fuel consumption is killing them. LPG conversion lessened the burden for them.
In Turkey alone cars such as Cherokee Jeeps, Lincoln Navigators etc. are mostly converted. Luxary cars such as Mercedes and BMW are also converted.
Their second hand values also appreciate if the car is LPG converted rather than a normal Petrol driven car.

Pls. check www.xoomautogaz.multiply.com for some idea on conversion.

    hi chief, some updates lng.

im currently having 5.5 - 6 km per liter LPG consumption and about 9 km per liter highway using Greenfuel's LPG SGI kit. i think this is normal for a 2.0 xtrail. is it? do i need to re-calibrate/tune up/clean sparkplugs/air filter more often?

the ride is smooth just like using gas and matipid pa. thx to this thread!!

i'd think that would be normal for an xtrail. I'm driving an A/T 1.6 Altis .... getting 7kms/liter city driving on LPG ..... no long trips yet.

    HI Guys,

I need help in making a decision. I just want to get the best kit, installation and after sales service. Dont we all want those? : ) Im also after a kit that I can move to another car when I eventually sell my Escape.

I've spoken with greenautogas, Ambient and Stargas regarding their kits. Tartarini and Prins both have similar high price kits. Max capacity for toroidal at 70 plus liters.

Stargas will sell me an optional customized cover to take care of my spare wheel mounting and flloor board (covering the tank) This is the one they offer at Ford Alabang where they currently install as well. They might also have other spare tire solutions for other ford models. The existing one will have to be removed due to 1 inch lift of the tank. I can opt for a smaller one to just fit it as it but I need the biggest capacity due to my transpo needs.
Ambient offered ATOY to do the customization service. I just dont have an idea how much that will cost.
Sharon of Greenautogas told me to just go to Banawe and have them do it for me. It should come out at 1500 to 2000.

Ambient and Tartarini's info on their website is well laid out. Its also easy to get reviews or commments from actual users abroad via google. I didnt get much info on Prins except that its from the Netherlands and the injectors used are from Japan. Its top of the line and expensive, that's usually what I read. So does that make the Tartarini kit overpriced at ambient? They're just less than 10,000 pesos apart with the big tank. Currently Sharon's tank is only up to 56 I think.

I just started searching on Aldessa. Is this still the kit installed by Sharon? Im concerened on boring holes on the manifold. ARe Tartarini and Prins exempt from this?

My escape is already 80000 km, just turned 5 years old last July. Its still cheaper to use it than to buy a car (due to lpg option) I just started using seaoil's e10 and am very satfisfied with the performance and savings. But LPG system will make me save more. Based on my usage, that's 1,311.47 kilometers a month.

    km/l are just estimates
    City driving 5.35 km/L * 56 pesos shell unleaded 13,727.59 a month
    City driving 5.35 km/L * 54 pesos sea oil e10 13,237.32 a month
    City driving 4.8 km/L(less 10%)*31 pesos AutoLPG 8307.37 a month
ROI for 75000 KIT (9 months)
    65000 KIT (6.6 months)

Im from Libis, QC and Im nearer to Ambient and Greenautogas. Stargas is all the way down south. My wife just got a new outlander and Im making this as my service car.

    Hi Sir,
almost all sequential kits would have to drill holes into your intake manifold. This allows the system to use its injectors to directly supply the engine with LPG. You will indeed generate bigger savings rather then using E10 on LPG.

Almost all? What if you want to remove the LPG kit when its time to sell the car?

XOOMaster, is there a chance NOT to drill at the manifold?

MFB, to your other Q, when someone bores a hole on the part of the engine, we crossed the point of no return. It's still possible to transfer the kit, but I don't like the idea of putting a cap on those holes.

Better off selling the car (with a higher price) with the kit. Who knows, there maybe newer kits in the market.
