Depends on the condition of the show truck. If it's an immaculate interior with no rattles and the engine is smoke free... why not? First take note of all the mods and calculate what you'd have to do to a stock Hilux to get it to that point. Get the going price from Buy n' Sell... add about 50k to that, assuming the unit is indeed "fresh"... also, don't forget to add depreciation to the mods, too... you shouldn't have to pay more than 1/2 to 2/3rds of what the mods add to the car, because you're assuming the mods are secondhand, too...

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

consider also the FC of that monster. i'm sure it would drink more than your strada. if you will use it as a daily drive, (with 35s) then would you bear the rough ride? remember that the strada has a near-car ride. but if you really want serious offroading, then why not? it's a nice rig but remember, it's more fun to build you own rig, right?

Salamat, mga brods. Highly appreciate it.

I still have time to decide, but, I'm still really leaning towards the hilux.

The only disadvantage of the Hilux is it's age. Kaya lang, I feel that it would last longer than my Strada. My Strada is 3 years old with 45k kms and yet again, some problems are coming back like the steering which has already been replaced at 25k kms. Parang wala akong confidence when the warranty expires. Mahal pa ang parts ng bagong model. Sorry, mga Strada lovers.

Maraming LN106 dito sa San Pablo na tumatakbo pa kahit 250-300k kms na odo reading.

Niky, the engine is still strong. The owner spent around 700 - 800k for the mods alone and I'll be paying only maybe 1/3 of that.

JJCE, I know it's better to build my own rig, but it was offered to me with the mods already so why not, di ba?

Lcrc777, mas marami pa ring possibilities ang Hilux when it comes to mods.

Gerbo, actually si misis ang atat sa hilux.

strada is a capable off roader! didn't you see vicki henderson in top gear when she tested the strada and the navarra? navarra won (because of the torque), but the strada did ok too (frankly, i thought she was splitting hairs there in that episode).

the hilux in the picture looks macho, true. but if i were you, i still wouldnt trade my strada for that. MAYBE i would trade my revo/adventure/hilander for it, but not the strada, hehehe.

just curious...how's the gearing on that bad boy? it may look the part, but does it drive well? can it drive real fast without breaking the wheel bearings?

Yeah, I saw that episode. The strada is a capable off-roader, no doubt, as I've tried it too, but, it's the toughness that I'm after. Solid axled front vs. IFS? Recirculatin ball steering vs rack and pinion?

The hilux has 5.29 gearing for the 39's but I'm planning to put in 35s so I guess it would be just fine. I'm quite satisfied running at 120 kph for a pick-up truck (my missus too), although I've tried 180kph on my Strada.

The other mods for the hilux are Safari snorkel, TJM bumper, Drawtite hitch, ARB air lockers for the front, LSD rear, Skyjacker leaf springs, dual Rancho shocks per wheel, Procomp steering damper, Mickey Thompson Classic II rims, et al.

It's, actually, quite difficult to let this just pass by.

Would you trade this....
